Will companies release new games

hi guys..

since ps3 is 800$ here in my country it's out of my budget although my ps2 is just like brand new so i just wanna ask will big companies continue releasing games on ps2 like fifa wwe socom tomclancys games...  will we see fifa 08 on ps2 for example or they as usually will stop releasing and will force us to play same games...

Microsoft has already stopped production of Xbox games after Christmas so I don't see why Sony would keep producing PS2 games.  With the newer consoles come expanding horizons.  Why waste time and money producing games for obsolete consoles.  I can't say for sure but im fairly certain that sony will keep their focus on the PS3 and PSP and halt production of PS2 games.:(

Of course they will. Don't forget the 360 has been out for a year and a half, and Microsoft have only just stopped producing for the xbox. Also the PS2 is the highest selling console ever, and there are hundreds of thousands out there, so it makes economical sense for developers and producers to still make PS2 games. At least for another year, maybe two. Oh and WWE is going to come out on the PS2. ;)OremorE

yeah, but ps2 exclusives are gonna get harder and harder to find. burnout: dominator and GOWII will probably be the last high-profile games. but thats ok there is a huge back catalog, i just picked up dark cloud today, and for a game that came out in 2001, its awesome!
