Which socom?? Theres no way in hell socom 1 is worth 20-25$ lmao. Who is trying to tell it for that much? Ebgames/gamestop?? lol. SOCOM 1-3 are buggy, glitchy turds but if you dont demand the best from them and just take advantage of what they do offer they can be fun to play through. I got 1-3 off ebay for like 5-7$ each for my dad and I also played through them. The worst part about the old ones is that bad guys just appear out of nowhere. If you open a door to a building and stay outside while you look around you wont see anyone. But as soon as you walk through the door the bad guys will spawn and be standing there right next to you blowing your brains out. You learn to overcome things like that though. SOCOM CA was the best though. I'd only get older socom games if you alreadyown Urban Chaos and Killzone.

Actually you asked " it's LIKE combined assault, right????11??! ".

And that would suggest that you were actually asking about SOCOM 3. In my opinion, you should get something interesting like the MGS series or even RE4. If you don't have them already. FPS games are really slow, chuggy and badly directed on any console. Look at HALO, the king of the console shooter. DOOM makes it look girly. And it was for DOS.

If it has to be SOCOM or nothing (especially only single player?!?!) just save your money and grab SOCOM 1 for $5 at EBGames.

Yeah the way you said it made it sound like whatever socom you were talking about was "like combined assault". But i could see how you could have been guessing at the name. Socom:CA is the best one in the series. The controls are super smooth and the graphics are good. Still the replay value is extremely low. You can go back and replay missions the enemy placements never change. I dont consider it a wise purchase for 20-25$ for the new one. Just buy the older ones and play other games and after awhile socom:Ca will be dirt cheap also.

I dont play online either. Like I said they are buggy but playable. I think for those prices they are good buys. If you want a good FPS look for Urban Chaos or Killzone. You should also look for any games that start with Conflict: ______. They have awesome co-op modes and are pretty damn fun in single player to. Timesplitter games let you make your own maps and should also be snatched up. They let you do some wicked things like use teleporters and have strobe lights.

kid, don't get so hastey about your responses. people are just trying to give you a straight answer. And no i say it's not worth it. I rather get MGS3 which amazingly costs less.

If you're going to get MGS3, make sure you go for the good version: Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. It'll still run you about $20-25 USD, but you get so much more content.

Playing with humans is always better than playing with AI dude. The AI cant curse you out and say mean things when you kill it.

I got the network adaptor for the old ps2 at walmart. but it was full price. I think its worth getting the slim ps2 cuz it loads faster, it has the online already in it, and its just alot sexyer. If you want to good online game just get

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat

I love it. Its way better than socom. You can usually find it cheap too. The online rules, and the single player is good. But the real game is online. The servers are still up too.
