MY cousin got me RTX: Red Rock for Christmas a few years back, awful, awful game. I also bought Marvel Nemesis for $15, played it for only 3 days and got rid of it 2 weeks later.
SMT Devil Summoner and FFX turned out boring. I've been lucky compared to other systems I've owned in that I've not spent money on any truely bad PS2 games.
Well, I paid 67,95 EUR (95 USD) for Jak II on release date. Back then I didn't realize how much money that actually was... But it was the MSRP at the time, so if I wanted to play that game, I had to pay it. Has to be the most expensive game I've ever bought. It's a great game, but not worth THAT much. As for games I just thought were bad... Well, Suikoden V has to be my least favorite PS2 game I own, but I got it for a budget price. Oh, and Marc Ecko's Getting Up has to be THE buggiest game I've ever played, but again, I got it for cheap... And it was pretty fun.
I agree about Star Ocean 3. So much potential, but after over 40 hours I was desperate to finish that game and move on. Suikoden IV was pretty bad too.
But FFX? I love that game and it got great reviews so I don't know what all the fuss is about with its bashing on here.

Agreed, I have no clue what people are talking about. If FFX is the worst purchase they made then they must have bought some really amazing games. Even if they didn't like it i can guarantee they have bought worse games :D.
FFX? you guys are crazy. You must have gotten some perfect games, or maybe FFX was the only game you bought... I would have to say Sims for PS2 was the worst purchase. I already had the PC version, and only got the PS2 one out of curiosity . Unfortunately, I never really played it and eventually sold it. I would have said sphinx about 3 years ago, but I went back and beat it it was a great game.
TETRIS WORLDS. I thought I was getting a decent tetris to puzzle on with...instead I got a crappy half-a$$ tetris wanna-be. Gave it to my worst enemy the next day.
My god how terrible that game was, and to think it came from the mind of the creator of Castlevania! You could tell the basics were there. The fighting mechanic was actually pretty cool, requiring to know which enemy type you were fighting and use the corresponding combo. However, everything else about the game was terrible. The level design was a bore, the story was bleh, and it was unnecessarily hard.
