So just bought this game and played it. I had ALOT of slowdown problems while playing it and it was disappointing. So was it my discs fault or my Launch Ps2? This PS2 is the fat old one. If i get a slim, might it be fixed?

Oh, don't blame it on your current PS2 system yet. Like in my case, I have both the old and new system. And both system modded. Everytime I copied play backup or lightly scratched games, I find that the old system reads better than the new system. But both operate normally when it comes to brand new games. So save yourself some money and buy a PS3 instead. Also, I tried playing the game again & the only part of the game I noticed slowing down is when I used the Vector Cannon a couple of times just to get to Aumaan. I played it with the PS3 system as well. Same thing.

Dude, the part on Phobos where you fight hundreds of frames at the same time killed me. I lagged so badly i just wanted to throw one of my favorite games out of the window. It just made the game unplayable. And yeah, i plan to buy a Ps3 just for MGS4 and i'm wondering if the problem will be fixed. Anyway, Thanks

the frame rate does drops but you still play it. it happens the ps2 is not strong enough so it just slows down. The game is great one of the best games ever
