Sony has often touted the PlayStation brand as a long-living one. The PS1 had a lengthy life cycle, and the PS2 still goes strong today. Many thought Sony's claim that PS3 would have a ten year life cycle was a joke -- but considering Sony's track record with the PS2, we wouldn't be surprised to see Sony go for such an ambitious plan.

How will PSP remain a 10 year product? FIrmware updates and hardware revisions will undoubtedly keep the system fresh for years to come. In spite of the release of the redesigned PSP-2000, original PSP owners are still able to access many new features, and can still play all new games. John Koller told IGN: "We've talked about the PSP being a 10 year product, but a 10 year product in the continued... how can I put this... in the continued lifecycle, so we obviously had the 1000, we have the 2000, so the PSP as it was first launched in March 2005 isn't going to the be the PSP that it ends up as in 10 years"

The PSP's future is starting to scare me though. Seriously, go to the PSP and DS sections on GameSpot and compare the upcoming releases. The PSP has like a fraction of the amount of games coming. :( Granted, 90% of those DS releases are useless shovelware, but the PSP's release list isn't much better, only smaller. I was certain that the PSP was inches away from death, but this gives me some hope that it will keep on going, and have some solid titles in the future.

let it be,so which other game (should be a seires)should i place in place of silent hill game in the poll. ofcourse suggested game should be likely to come not like hitman (is it ever possible)

The PSP UMD is region free right? If it is Ijust might have to import Crisis Core..and with the weak american dollar, it'll be cheap :D

Yes Sir! Games are region free, but not the movies. I was a little fearful about English Voice Acting for Crisis Core and while it's still not close as amazing as Japanese, they did a very good job. No regrets whatsoever, FF:CC is absolutely fantastic. :)

I'd love to see some PC titles go to the PC like Halo, or Half Life. Even a MMORPG of sorts, lol.

My first pick would have to be RESIDENT EVIL!!

I would just like a solid first-person shooter.

To be honest, I don't think the PSP can make it to ten years. Not unless the next few years of it's life are like this one.

I hope it does make it to ten year though, just so long as it keeps delivering some quality games. At least the PSP is living up to what Sony said it was for. Taking the Playstation experience on the go. We have most of the games you'd expect from a sony platform.

Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, God of War, Dragon Ball Z, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter. We're getting a Kingdom Hearts.

i wish to see anything coming from Team ICO on the PSP, guess they would do an excellent platform game for it...

Also would love to see new/original games not long runnig console franchises... As regards the 10 year life-span, probably there will be a re-design and technical upgrades, but that's not bad news at all...

I love my PSP can't wait for GOW & FF:CC to arrive, ordered both this morning...
