I don't know if this is a topic already, but if it is, I'm sorry for repeating a topic already discussed, but I just got a Sony Bravia 32 inch HDTV and it projects in 1080i, but I want to get the full experience of the ps3, am I doing that with my TV or should I get rid of the TV just because of resolution, because I want to use 1080p, and I want to know if its a difference, thanks for your opinions. :D 01-20-2008, 20:13:53

if you can return the TV or have the money for a new one or just want a new one than its better but if you don't fall into any of those catagories 1080i should be plenty good as long as the TV is quality.

Don't bother with it; 1080p on something lower than a 40" is a scam, meaning that you wont notice the difference between 720p and 1080p in a 32" HDTV. Trust me, I stood there and looked at two Sharp Aquos 32" HDTVs side by side and compared 1080p and 720p, and you aren't missing anything.

thats ot entirely true. the systems are equal if the inputs are equal, which i suspect where you saw the 2 tv's if it was at any reatiler. the only way to see the difference is to use blu ray on the 1080p and a blu ray at 720p. yes on a smaller tv it isn't as noticable but there is still a difference. but i have to say, my assiassins creed on 1080i is beautiful on a 1080p tv.

I recently found out my 1080i t.v. also supported 720p when I looked in the manual. The p, for progressive does make a diffrence. Why don't you select 720p, alot of games are in that resolution.

Anyone who says they can find a difference between 720p and 1080p under 50 inches is full of cockadookie. Unless you are standing 3 feet away from the television, you will not notice a difference at that size.

Oh, and 1080i puts alot of stress on lcd tv's. I wouldn't use that resolution too much. If possiple to use progressive scan (720p), then do i.
