[QUOTE="RoyTheViking"]You're probably seeing 720p.gamer2damaxNope I changed between 720p and 1080p and there's a obvious difference 1080p is much sharper But thank you nonetheless
Any tv that is under 45" you wont be able to see the difference between 720p and 1080p unless you are some crazy videophile, my guess is your mind desperately wants you to 1080p so it lies to you. (also you should set your ps3 to 1080i if your have blu ray movies otherwise it will scale down to 480p.epic_nemesisOh.. ok then thanks...
your TV is just scaling the 1080p output from the PS3 to 720p or what ever your native resolution is. It's not real 1080p. My TV will either scale input to 1080p or take a 1080p native feed, so if I set the PS3 to 720p or 1080i the TV just scales it to 1080p, same thing your TV is doing, just at a lower resolution.
Ok I understand what all you guys are saying about a scalar but when my tv is in 720p it says that its resolution is 1280*720 and when it's in so called 1080p its my tv shows that its resolution is 1920*1080 the difference would be 1,152,000 which i think is quite a big difference... Now can anyone explain that oh and btw i disabled 1080i so the PS3 won't switch to that resolution. Maybe I'm just crazy but really it isn't the difference between 720p and 1080p that i see its the difference between 1280*720 and 1920*1080. gamer2damax
don't have an answer for you......looking at that TV I don't see how it can support that resolution.....
specs listed
Resolution: 1366 x 768

You have a low budget end LCD, you simply do not have the pixels to display 1080p content for starters. Almost any set can take a random number of resolutions in and convert them to their native res. Therefore, most LCDs can handle any resolution and then scale it to 720p. Your set is not displaying 1080p nor can it display 1080i, everything is converted to the resolution of your panel no matter what you do. Any difference you are seeing is likely to be negative since the set has to do more scaling (which a cheap scaler) and you should stick to feeding the set its native resolution. If you continue to think that a scaled image looks better, you might as well not own an HDTV.
