120/250GB Backwards Compatibility

Can someone please explain to me why on my 120 GB PS3 I have the ability to create a PS2 memory card, but I can't play any PS2 games? Seriously? Are they going to release a firmware update to enable PS2 support? Hell, I'd even pay money for it if they did.

Hmmm...strane. I thought they would have done away with that once they nixed BC...

Im sure they will be BC soon enough, just wait a couple months after the PS2 is discontinued

Have they said anything about it? Cause I am dying to have PS2 support.

I am pretty sure they will ad ps2 games to the PSN store...I can't wait to play Kindom Hearts 1 and 2... Final Fantasy X and ICO since I skipped those titles when I had a ps2.. make it happen sony! :3

They still have that there because those PS3's can still play PS1 games and that's why the memory card feature is present.

well I "envested" $500 + accesories for my 20GB so I don't need the update. Buying old ps2 games on the psn would be grat though! as long as they're reasonably priced...
