I really want 16:10 resolutionslike 1680x1050. I know 16:9 are the most used but I think that a good part of people play with his computer monitor.sony should understandand make this possible.is there a way to let sony know this?

is there any particular technical reason why this is not possible now?

16:9 is widescreen. Its the standard, the definition... 16:10 is not.

Sony is a world leader of Widescreen HDTV's, they are pushing the HDTV not the monitor, therefore they aren't really to lenient on monitors...

What kindof monitor are you using that allows 16:10? I know my own HD monitor is more of a budget model that seems to really do 16:8, but still scans the image at 16:9 and just happens to cut the edges. Still 16:9 is the standard, as what has been said, for widescreen format. Although the PC can be adjustable for this, I don't see why any monitor would strive to do more than 16:9

In lamens the term Sony couldn't care less and I seriously don't think that the majority of the ppl with PS3 are playing monitors. Even if your Monitor is 16:10 so long as it supports component, HDMI or DVI (HDCP) then the PS3 will still output so whats the problem?

Uh I have a Samsung 216BW and you can run the PS3 in 1080p...Some games have issues filling up the screen but that can be fixed with adjustments that can be made while in game.

I havent had any issues with my PS3 and monitor that has a native resolution of 1680x1050

Even the 360 looks just fine in 1280x720...
