People just aren't buying.... it's ok though, it's inevitable 8) na but seriously, the only way there going to move consoles it when it's$299.99just like the PS2 was.
About what I expected - not good news for Sony.
Doesn't seem to bother them enough to cut the price, though. They'll keep preaching the value of the PS3, which I do agree with, but as I've been saying for a long time now, it's about price, not value.
They can throw as much into the box as they want to but, at the end of the day, the $399 or $499 sticker is what drives people away.
This is true... i'm seeing a lot of people come in and pick up a 360 (The Pro Version) at $299... but the $399 just has people pause and look at the game selection for the 360. They don't seem to care that the 360 gets the red ring of death or scratches your disc when standing up or that the PS3 has blu ray - it comes down to the price. Plus the fact that Sony cancelled the deal where you would get a free game with your PS3 is causing a lot of people to ask "What do i get with a 360?" well... step right up for some deals! For the Elite you can get 2 free games and some free points... it's a real shame that Sony backed out on their deal.About what I expected - not good news for Sony.

I agree wholeheartedly. They can make back the lost money with software sales if they just cut the price.About what I expected - not good news for Sony.

How come your opinions are right? :P Hit the nail right on the head. It's not good and Sony doesn't seem to care. They say value and it doesn't matter if it came with 10 games, $400 is $400. PS3 Slim/price drop is supposed to come in August. That should help.About what I expected - not good news for Sony.

Frustrating... a considerable percentage of those buying the 360 have to go out and buy all the things the 360 is missing... and end up paying more for their 360 than for the PS3. Why can't Sony and the media emphasize the PS3's superior value??sportwarriorBecause if you buy it in pieces, it doesn't seem as bad. Since the PS3 has all that stuff in it, it's hard to sell it all at once, it's expensive. Sony does flaunt the value, which I can see, but it's still $400 $500, and that's the biggest problem. Money can be made up in software sales. I think July and August numbers will be better.
