It's 16:10 widescreen and can do 16:9 1080p.

I currently have the same monitor as you. The dimension ratio for 1080i/p are 16:9 and the max resolution of your monitor is 16:10. If you're playing games set it for the max resolution of the monitor and not 16:9 (1920x1080). The screen looks stretched and odd if you put it at 1920x1080. So, are you wondering whether you can hook up your PS3 to the monitor? I don't see why you can't with the appropriate adapter. Then again, I could be wrong so look it up before you do it.

720p = monitor res of 1280x720
1080p = monitor res of 1920x1080
1080i = interlaced res of 1920x1080 (horizontal lines, looks like a poo crt)

if 1080p is there you'll be using that, otherwise 720p

Nice choice on monitor btw! I'm using 205bw (smaller), make sure you enable MagicColour when playing on your PS3, looks awesome, i use it all the time now!
When I decide to turn it off to compare it to what I was looking at, it's like lookign at black and white!!

Seriously though you'll be fine.

The differences are barley noticable and nothing looks particularly out of proportion, you wouldn't be able to tell unless you were told, or custom to playing on a 16:9 screen.

P.S
You want a HDMI/DVI adaptor, though you knew that already.
DVI doesn't carry sound, so youll want to look at other options for sound, but you knew that too.
Incase you don't, I stuck some stuff in a post, the link is in my sig.

You can't see 1080p on your monitor?
I didn't think TFT monitors were capable of 1080i pictures.
My monitor (205bw) doesn't allow me to view 1080i, but I can see 1080p fine, just i need to get rid of the dialogue box telling me it's not running at "optimum resolution).
So you really can't see 1080p at all?

Mine has only 720p and 1080p checked, as well as the mandatory 480p. I'll post some 'screenies', you do the same.

At the end of the end of the video where it shows "information" on the on screen display, what does yours say at 1080i?
