1up Assassins Creed - 7.0

Now before you act all disturbed keep in mind its just a number. They basically had the same complaints as gametrailers. This was from the same team that brought us the Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia franchises so no one should have expected a perfect game by any means.

In short

The good:

Graphics look great along with seamless animations and the climbing mechanics seem a little to easy, but fun at the same time. The story also seems to be a strong point.

The bad:

Enemy AI is awful. They stand around one at a time as you kill them off and you can stealth kill one guard right in front of another w/out him even noticing you. The fighting is also rather bland and simplistic once you learn how to counter attack. The game is also noted to be very repetitive and rather short. It was also made with the intentions of a sequel so apparently they cut it off too soon leaving to much to be desired.

Im still gonna play it though.

don't trust 1up that much...they gave crysis a 8/10 , while eveyone gives perfec scores or almost, even GS gave 9.5 to crysis, ign 9.4 and so on.

it's true that the enemies AI is not that good, but giving a 7 to a game just because of that...lol.

i still think assassins creed is worth the price you pay for it and one of the best games of this year.

I have read the review two times carefully and every time I did one thing came to my mind. Can anyone please this person? Had every single action he did in Assassin's Creed bored him so much that there was nothing positive to say?

I highly doubt most of his words, it also seems that Assassin's way of play is not his cup of tea either. It doesn't sound as a professional review either. All of his negative impressions were his "own" dislikes.

This reminds me of Folklore..

Developers gameplay footage was shown numerous times. If that is how the game is - I'll continue with my anticipation of it as I did when I saw it on E3.

Poorly written review, not because the game might be bad, but became of a reviewer blatantly open and personal dislikes for the way Assassin's Creed plays.

Anyone know if this game runs any better on the PS3 then it will on the 360? Cos Oblivion runs pretty bad on my 360 with Framerate Issues and such.. But if this is solid on the PS3 i'll just buy it for that.cleotis_max

I was very excited when Assasins Creed was first announced.As time went by and I started to hear more and more feedback from people who actually played the game my excitement started to dissapear. I don't care how great the screenshots look if my character controls like a stick in the mud. I really hope that this game turns out to be better then average because I will not be getting it otherwise.

It's not like there's a shortage of other awesome games this holiday season anyway. I'm playin COD4 and Ratchett and Clank and I can't wait for Uncharted and Mass effect. Hopefully I'll add AC to that list s well

Lol how do you know that? Ohh that's right from looking at screenshots and watching commercials. Play it first then voice your opinion.

Yet again, I ask you people, who is 1up? Nobodies. They gave Crysis an 8 and it deserves much more than an 8. They downplayed countless games. AC is going to be in my hands this afternoon!

Now it was already told by Gametrailers that the enemy AI is rather stupid which hurts this game quite a bit. But for the game to be short in length? 12-15 HRS is short for you guys!? It's better than 6 like Heavenly Sword.

If you think you'll like a game, get it. If you have doubts, rent it. Thank you! Exactly what I do man. I'm not about to waste $59.99 for a game that lacks a lot. Dumb AI makes the game feel like your playing on easy mode or something. Reviews have saved me from crappy games and that is why I have to rely on them cause my money is at stake when these games come out.

i cant say im to surprised. this game became increasingly dissapointing the farther along it came IMO. i said I would wait for the reviews and so far it seems that my gut feelings are paying off. or in AC's case, not paying off.

Im gonna be gettin this no matter what the reviews say. And here in Norway its gotten a dice throw 6 and 5 in the two largest newspapers. ( Its score is in dice, meaning 6 is the best)

Kind of a pity:( But I'll still check it out

anyone notice they called the game short? most places are saying the game will take you 15-20 hours, and if you do EVERYTHING may take upwards of 30 hours. since when is that short?

1up is probably one of the most laughable review sites anyhow. when have they been taken seriously?

still liking it due to the aerial assassinations, i thought that looked pretty insane
