I want to buy Mass Effect 2 on the PlayStation 3. However, I have two questions that I need answers for before I do so.

1) Is all the DLC that's free to download for the Xbox 360 and PC with the Cerberus Network free with the PlayStation 3's Cerberus Network?

2) I've heard that assignments that are done in the first game will carry over to the second, but, since there's no Mass Effect 1 for the PlayStation 3, what happens to this?

I'd appreciate the help.

1) I'm not sure which DLCs you're referring to exactly but the PS3 version is supposed to include all DLCs that were released before it. The single later DLC "The Arriving" or what it's called is buyable on PSN. 2) The PS3 version includes an interactive summary of the first game where you can make all the relevant decisions.

What about the Assignments? For example, say I helped Gianna Parasini, and convinced Qui'in to testify. I've seen that reflected in the 360 version of ME2, but is it the same in the PS3? Can I choose that in Genesis?

I know neither of those names, so I guess not. Haven't played ME1 yet.

There are various decisions you make in the interactive comic, but that's not one of them.

1. The major DLC (Overlord, Lair of the Shadow Broker, Kasumi) is all on the disc. You get the rest of the DLC when you punch in the Cerberus code at the Playstation Store. So yes, you get everything.

2. There's a comic in the beggining that lets you choose the big decisions from Mass Effect. It's not very good, but its better than nothing. The problem is, it leaves out some of the smaller stuff like Conrad Vernor and whether or not Major Kirrahe survives. All the big decisions are there though. And you wont be lost on the plot at all. The comic nails everything important, and there's a seemingly limitless Codex to keep you up to speed with the lore and history of the Universe.

It's not in the interactive comic at the beginning of ME2 for PS3, which means it doesn't have a significant effect on the progression.

I got Mass Effect 2 for Christmas, just cracked it open last night. It is fun, but it feels a bit overwhelming at times, maybe I'm just not feeling it right now. I keep feeling like I'll miss something.

You get all the DLC except Arrival, which is like $7 and bridges ME2 and ME3.
