Alright in Prototype and Infamous the two games that I'm probly pre-ordering well I know I'm preordering Prorotype for sure but maybe Infamous. I saw some bad pre-ordering ideas.

1. With Pre-Order of Infamous you get electric blades (that's pretty cool) but you also get demo 7 days before everyone else (that seems like a good idea but to me not cause that gives me just enough time to cancel order if i realise that from the demo that the gamewill beterrible)

2. Prototype (with Pre-Order you get a action figure toy) whenI saw that i was like WOW maybe it was just that one site but I was really amazed they act likeAlex Mercer is some household namethat everyone knows about likeSonic or something. Alot of people don'tuse action figures andI doubt Prototype will be SUCH a great game that the figures will turn into expensive collectables even thoughI think it will be an amazing game though.

Anyone elseagree with me??

Well, the whole point of a demo is to see whether you'll like a game or not... if you're pre-ordering the game, you're probably in the mindset that you'll like it. If you cancel your order, then no biggie; it's no different than playing the demo for a game without pre-ordering it.

QFT. They are going to release a demo for people to try it anyway, they just give people a little extra reward forthose thatpre-orderedby giving them thedemo a little early.

Well the thing is is that if you pre order and get the demo early and play it and decide you dont want it after all, then the company is losing money because you were going to buy it but then you decided not to.

Then they shouldn't release a demo at all.

This except I won't be renting it or buying it. It doesn't even sound good.

inFAMOUS Looks alright, but its one of those things that looks like it would get boring incredibly fast.

Posting a demo early will more likely than not just get the people that pre-ordered to tell all of their friends about it. They want people to talk about it, instead of having to advertise for it. If a friend tells me that he just played a great demo, I'm going to hold that as more important than what previews have told me. I read about Prototype when it first showed up in GamePro a while ago and it seems like it'll be a great game.

Yes but you will eventually play the demo later anyway and decide you do not like it still o.o. The devs are in the mindset instead that people do not understand why so many previews hype the game up and hope the demo will show them that the game is not boring and instead will push them over to buy it.

Infamous>Prototype but I dont really care about pre-order bonuses. The only one I ever got and cared about was the free Zelda Master's Quest disc for pre-ordering Zelda Wind Waker.

By that logic, no game should EVER have a demo, whether or not its tied into a pre-order. I think this is a great idea - it's going to drive people that were planning to buy it anyway to pre-order, so they can access the demo earlier.

Two things, though - #1) The blades are for pre-ordering from GameStop; the early demo access is for pre-ordering from Best Buy or GameCrazy. #2) I believe the early demo access is actually about 2 weeks early, not 1.

2. Prototype (with Pre-Order you get a action figure toy) whenI saw that i was like WOW maybe it was just that one site but I was really amazed they act likeAlex Mercer is some household namethat everyone knows about likeSonic or something. Iron_Eye18

Well, the problem here is obvious - you're pre-ordering Prototype. That game looks like crap. :P
