I really can't beleive the arrogance of this developer. First, they make us wait a year to enjoy this great game. But the announcement of Bioshock for PS3 seemed like a win since we were told this version would have brand new content.

Then the rumors of a shoddy port. And now this crap. We have to pay a whopping $10 bucks to get the new content which is merely a few challenge rooms. For $10 bucks, I want a whole new chapter to Rapture. Now I have absolutely no reason to buy this game on PS3. I bought it on Xbox 360 for the cheap.

I think its terrible when developers put in extra time and money in to make DLC then ask you to pay for it. Its just like their are a business.

It really sucks when you have to pay for DLC. We have already paid to buy the game. Why should we pay more to download more stuff and features?

I understand that on X360 some ppl pirate games and the developers are being stolen by those ppl but on the PS3 there are no pirates so paying for DLC dosen't seem right.

It makes more sense to offer it for free. They lost a potential buyer with me, and I'm sure that I am not alone. In the PC market, developers for years would offer free downloads, new map packs etc... It extended the longetivity of the game, and therefore, more potential sales.

I believe in supporting developers, but not getting raped by them.

as far as i remember in my years of pc gaming anything substantial was release as an expansion pack and was a separate purchase.

Expansion packs offered a lot more content though, like 20 hours of gaming or a new campaign, nothing pathetic like this offering.

Here is my personal point of view.

I only have PlayStation system to play my games on when time allows and I have had nothing but a fantastic time with Bioshock since I got it few days ago.

I'm usually very picky when buying games since I enjoy specific genres and prefer single player over online. I don't have time to invest into online competitions.

I do agree that download content should be free, but in console world that's unfortunately not always the case. I for example am going to purchase the 10$ additional content since I very much enjoy the game and will appreciate the extra missions, etc.

It would be nice if it was free however if a person really likes the game, as it is in my case, I will definitely not pass on it. ;)

I kinda agree with the guy that said pc gamers had to pay for expansions. In this new age since consoles can now accept dlc it makes the company want to charge for it. It's understandable but kinda sucky since console games are like 20 bucks more than pc games. I guess maybe cause with consoles they have to pay the liscensing fees.

They lost 1 buyer, and you lose your chance to play one of the best games of the generation.

The extra content is still there as promised, and they added even more...nobody is twisting your arm, and it's not like they are forcing you to pay 70$ for the game and dlc combined.

I don't see how anyone could complain about the option of DLC...I'm glad it's there, and like I said nobody forces you to buy it. I'm actually very happy, I owned it on 360 and bought the game again on PS3 to get the trophies. More exclusive content, this just completely justified my purchase.

I think it is somewhat ridiculous. They said at first it would be included on disc, then they said it will be DLC and now charging us for something that was initially suppose to be on disc. I mean look at games like Battlefield: Bad Company and Burnout: Paradise. Both games offer free DLC in updates. Just recently Bad Company had an update that included 4 FREE maps, fixed mic problems and trophy support, same with Burnout Paradise and the update for bikes.

I think it's better for developers to offer free DLC, they gain more respect from the consumer and the industry.

And it is. DLC on a PC is free... remember that when you argue that they spend resources on this crap.

Difference is EA makes both Battlefield and Burnout and they can AFFORD to offer free content. For some reason I find it hard to believe 2k has as much income as EA.

Its not the price off the DLC, its the fact That if you own a 360 ( I dont ), you can buy the same game for 1/4 the price...and there making me pay for DLC ? If i had gotten bioshock that cheap i would happily buy the DLC

Yep, bullsh*t. You can get the game for $40 on 360 and $30 on PC. Yet they charge the full $60 for the PS3 version AFTER making us wait a year for it? Give us a shoddy port and then want even more for DLC. Pardon my french, but they can kiss my shinny black ass. Will still be buying the game, cause it is a great title, but the DLC won't be purchased by me.

I don't really mind publisher's charging for DLC. I really only feel bad for the people that actually purchase it. I have yet to come across any DLC that I felt was worth any amount of money, especially when most of it doesn't really add anything to the single-player experience.

Did they ever say that the DLC was going to be free? Or did everyone just assume it ..

I'll take the latter ..
