Alright so for the past week or so I've been stuck in this decision. I'm really bad at making decisions, and without the forum's help, I might not make a purchase for several months. I really do appreciate any advice anyone gives me. I know
To start things off, I've been an on and off sort of handheld gamer over time. I stuck with the Game Boy through thick and thin all the way up from the Pocket to the current "phat" DS that I own now. I played the DS for awhile, but then got more into the 360 and online MMOs. At E3, the announcement of Golden Sun DS really fueled my interest again and I realized how many great games were on the DS...AND PSP.
My question is: Should I upgrade my "phat" DS to a DSi for $120 (GameStop has a promotion where you can trade in the "phat" one for $50 towards a DSi), get a PSP for $170 (or an entertainment pack), or should I just keep my old DS and focus on the games. I've got some spending money, so I'll be doing at least one of the three.
Games are really the focus here, by the way. Although I like the idea of the DSi's camera thing and the PSP's massive multimedia functionality, I already own an iPod and use that for my music and movies. I'm interested in games like Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, the World Ends With You (RPGs) and New Super Mario Bros, Mario & Lugi: Partners in Time, and Trauma Center (platformers, quirky little niche titles, action, etc.) I'm also really wanting to get Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Golden Sun DS when they come out. For the PSP, games like Daxter, God of War: Chains of Olympus, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters, and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (this especially) interest me. I also would love to play Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and Dissidia: Final Fantasy when they come out.
So what's better, an upgrade to my DS, a purchase of a PSP, or just buy games for the DS? (I'm not interested in the PSP Go either, so don't suggest to wait til that comes out)
