you can't play psone/ps2 games on the 40gb.
only 2 usb ports
no memory stick ports

wrong. fully compatable with psone games, not ps2 though. usb and mmports can be easily obtained through other sources, eg usb addons. 40gb is cheaper, uses less power and quieter. (later design of the model, if you want to put it that way). HDD can be upgraded (personally, never used more than 25 gb so far).
