I'm thinking of buyng a ps3 but which is the best bargain? 40, 60, or 80? I know 40 is 400$ and 80 is 500$ but how much is 60? Also can a 40 gig play ps2 games? I never had a ps2 so I want one that can play them. An dfinally will the metal gear steel pack be coming to America?

40 can't play PS2 games. I have the 60 and I love it. Plays PS1 games as well. Have had it for 5 months now and no problems at all.

You could buy the 40 and attempt to install a 170 gb laptop drive in it.

well now I'm deciding on a 60 or 80. 80. I don't need much extra space so if I find a 60 i might get it. BTW how much does a 60 cost?

I would go for the 60 gb, if you can find one. The 80 gb MGS 4 edition is coming out in june, which will be an insane deal, if you can wait. Im fine with my 40gb, because I have a PS2, so I dont need backwards compatibility.

80gb is only $100 more expensive than the 40gb, it has 40gigs more, and it has ps2 compatibility.

The 60gb has (if you find it) the same price of the 80gb. Get the 80gb one.

The 60 gig with no game is the same price than a 80 with a game? Weird.

And will the mgs bundle come to america or is it only in japan?

It will come to America. The MGS bundle includes an 80gb PS3, MGS4, and a DualShock controller.

as many have said, if you can find a 60 gig go for it best places are ebay or a few other sites that have em at decent prices, otherwise wait till june to snag an 80 gig which has around 80-85% backwards compatibility which works on all the major games but you can check the website if there are particular games you are curious about whether or not they work

You will have a hard time getting your hands on a 60gb. So between a 40gb or a 80gb? You should buy a 80gb. Though it is roughly $100 more, the 40gb extra space, 2 extra hdmi inputs, and 75%ish bc is worth it. Also, believe it or not, 60gb is more expensive that 80gb, so you're better off with the 80gb.

You can try getting the 60gb but its really hard to find nowadays. Your best bet is to try the 80gb if your into still your PS2 games. Although, the 40gb is just fine.

Like everyone has said the 60 gig was the best SKU that was sold in the PS3 systems. Now they are costing more when you find them (most of the time) and the prices could just keep going up on the ones that had the EE chip set. Just remember that the PAL 60 gig SKU only used software emulation just like the 80 gig does everywhere now. I have a 60 gig and wouldn't part with it at any price.

Yes, the 80gb Metal Gear bundle is coming June 12, I think. Its definately june though, and definately coming to america too. It will have 80gb PS3 (with PS2 backwards compatibility), MGS4, and the new rumble controller. Definately the one to get. I would recommend the 60gb too, BUT they are very difficult to find. the 80gb is a great peice of hardware too.

You will not find a 60gb outside of Ebay, and it will be used. Sony does not make them anymore. Don't let that 1 person saying they found one brand new get your hopes up because more than likely they are lying. Get an 80gb if you can find one.

what i will say is a possibility is to buy a broken ps3 on ebay of which there are several for around 200ish then pay the 149 repair charge to sony and they will send you a new one which basically means you get a new 60 for 350
