Hey guys~ I'm strongly considering getting a PS3.. Games like Valkyria Chronicles and MGS4 really caught my eye.

Since I plan on spending not much on a PS3 I want to ask you a question about the HDD Space.
40 GB is w/o a doubt the cheapest of all. I'd be getting that, but my only concern is, that it might not be enough x___x

I want to make full use of PSN and install like 4 to 6 games - will 40 GB be enough for me?

The hard drive is easy enough to upgrade when you do have the cash later on.

Upgrading to a bigger hard drive is easy, cheap and does not void the warranty, as many people think.

I totally agree with the people above. Get the 40 and swap the HDD out immediately. I got 500 GB for about $100.

Everyones been dead on so far. 40 GB, then just upgrade from there. It's a simple process, and you'll have plenty of time to save up the cash before its necessary.

Also games are like 500MB to 1 and a half GB on the store so you should have enough space for quite a few games, it's the Game Data that boxed games install that take up most the space some using 3 or 4 GB. lame but you can delete it when your done playing the game.

Yes, and if you delete the game system data (the stupid thing that takes up 4GB or so to install), you'll keep your save file. So you can delete your system utility data if you know you aren't going to be playing the game in a long time and still keep your save file in case you want to play it again.

There aren't any more 40 gb around. And if they are, they are prob stil lgoing at the $399 price tag...so not sure why you listed between 40/80 gb instead of the current 80/160 gb available?

I don't see how the reliability would be any different in the two

The only difference is the smaller drive and less usb ports

There is no truth to this, the only ps3s with issues were 60gb. Not that there is 0 chance of ylod, there is always a chance.

That is not true either, every model has issues

Though they are not as widespread as people think
