I was wondering on how long does a 40gb lasts on the ps3. Cuz i am getting 1 this summer but I dont want to spend alot of money on the system cuz I want to get some games with it.

How long does 40 Gigs last on a PS3? Well I guess that depends on what kind of games you play and what you download, I think you should be fine, and buying more HDD space isn't so expensive but i havn't had to add any yet, I've only used like 20gb/76gb and that's w/ 5 games + like 8 demos and a few other small things. You should be fine.

My 60 gig system still has plenty of space on the HDD. I have several PS3 game files saved along with about 15 or 20 PS2 game files plus photos and other media. So you should be just fine with a 40 gig HDD for a long time, besides it's very inexpensive to replace the HDD with a much larger HDD (this also doesn't void the warranty). You can use any brand laptop HDD in the PS3 with no problem (the best thing is keep the drive speed at 5400 RPM,s to keep heat down).

you could always buy it and then get a hard-drive with more gigs. That is what i am doing in a few weeks
