Demos and game data mainly...but what drove me to purchase the 60Gb version was theEE chip installed inside...

It doesn't matter. You can replace the hard drive if you fill up the one you have. One of the best features of the PS3, IMO. And you can replace it with a [I believe] notebook hard drive, not some expensive proprietary piece of equipment as you do in a certain other machine.

EDIT: So get the one with the Emotion Engine, is what I meant to say.

I got a 60GB back in january and I'm actually glad I did. I have a big collection of PS2 games (over 50 titles) and I want to be able to play them all for a while, so I'm glad my console has hardware backwards compatibility emulation (not that the software emulation is bad - its around 80-85% compatible, compared to the 360s 40-50%). But honestly hard drive space doesnt matter much - for now. I think in a year or two when sony has a tv, movie, dvr service for the PS3 you'll wanna upgrade - but thats very easy with the PS3 and not terribly expensive. If you dont want the 60gb ps3 i would probably recommend waiting for the 40 gb. It still has wifi and software emulation and still has 2 usb slots (do you need more than that?) and no memory card slots (havent used these yet, good riddance). plus $399 is a great price for a next gen console with HD movie playback AND Wifi. Thats $50 less than the xbox elite which has neither HD movie playback or wifi built it (tack on $280 for that - ouch!)

well i have the 80gig, so far i havent put anything on it except for the newest update for the ps3 and some save files from Resistance, motorstorm, heavenly sword.

i dont really care about putting images or music or movies on it, cause my computer has 1,000 gigs :P so i really really dont need anything on the ps3 cause my computer can more then handle it xD hahah

No memory reader if that matters to you at all, and only two USB ports if that matters at all. Possibly some really really old PS2 games won't work. Honestly the 40gb model is a great deal.

I got the 40GB then put 320Gb in their for like 112 bucks. I found it on Newegg also i think it is the better way to go becasue i have a PS2 and i really don't want to play PS2 games becasue why would i buy PS3 execpt God of War 1 and 2.
