My Vita has a 4gb memory card which isn't a lot of space. However, I will not be downloading any games from the playstation store, just a couple apps. Will 4gb be enough for the game saving space?

Short answer is no. I say that because if you plan on downloading a few apps and keeping the system for a while I would go bigger and get AT LEAST an 8 gb. Just my suggestion though.

I concur with the post above. 8gbs gives you more headroom for future apps and potential Vita games that you can only get digitally, like sumioni and motorstorm RC

So, if I buy a new memory card will that reset everything? Will I have to redownload apps and set up my psn account again?

It won't "reset" everything, just use content manager to upload your files to either a PS3 or your computer then transfer the data back to your new memory card. I did it when upgrading from an 8gb to 32 and it was very simple. There are plenty of youtube videos that will walk you through step by step for either method.

Yes I have 15 retail PSvita games and 4GB Psvita memory card is just fine. I just use my Vita for playing videogames. I don't download music, Television, Movies or photographs. Just for game saves.

4G is fine. But if your going to do anything else with the Vita. Then you may need a larger memory card.

4 GB is a good starting point if you can't afford the more expensive cards. It will last a whileif you just really use it for game saves. I have a 4Gb card and I still have about half the space left on it after I bought unit 13 on the store (great game by the way). Game saves don't take much space so it should be fine for that. If you are going to do anything else with the system, then I'd agree with everyone else that you want to go bigger. I plan on upgrading to a 32GB card in the future.

Ditto.

The 32 gb card it the way to go for the long haul but if don't plan to download much, you should be okay.

Just to give you an idea of game sizes, here are some downloadable games that I like and what their install size is:

  • Motorstorm RC (691MB)
  • Pinball Arcade and 2 extra tables (392MB)
  • Pure Chess (351MB)
  • StarDrone Extreme (167MB)
  • Treasures of Montezuma (201MB)
  • Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!!! (131MB)

It can add up pretty quickly and if you want to try a demo, you're probably going to be screwed as some of them are a gig.

And you have to remember, when you buy a 4 gb card, you're not actually able to use all 4 gigs - it's 3. something, not 4.

You are getting some quality answers here TC! I'm here just to add another vote to the '4GB will be fine for saves, but if there is any possibility you will want to download demos, games, apps or have music/movies, a bigger card would be a worthy investment' group!
