Beggers can't be choosers.. IF IT"S FREE YOU CAN"T COMPLAIN AT ALL! WHY?

there are 5 decent movies. They are not great movies like The Departed or Casino Royale, but all of the movies are not horrible.
It is a good deal. But I wouldn't trade 5 Blu ray movies for the past few months of gaming. Don't forget that they are removing the EE chip. That's probably why the price of the PS3 is dropping. yanks1112
do you know that for a fact? cause I don't. the PS3's that have been sitting in warehouses for the past month, do those have the EE in them? I would think so.

It's actually even worse. You have to buy a reg. priced movie NOT on the list and you have to chose 1 movie from each catagory, you do NOT even get to pick any 5 from that horrid list.

it is a mail-in offer from the Blu-ray Association. you won't get the movies from the retail outlet.
Here is the actualy mail-in deal...make sure to read the fine print

41 cents is a small price to pay. I would assume that you are talking about the postage that you would need to send this in?
This talk of cutting the EE, can anyone verify this with PROOF??lawlersauce
the 80GB will probably be because it's the same iteration as the Korean version...which was the same iteration was the PAL version which had the EE removed.
but for the 60GB, there is no proof.

Well, Sony has stated that they will be removing the EE chip. When? I don't know but fact is that they removed it for the Euro launch.
Do you know for a fact they they have been sitting in warehouses for the past month? Because I would think if they have, they would be the 60 gig version.
Everything is speculation though until SONY says something, not someone in these message boards.

You have to purchase a full priced Blu-ray title at the same time (from a list of options) to qualify for the 5 free.
And you cannot combine it with other discounts...but I'm not sure if that includes a store discount with the new discountedPS3 or not.

considering that Sony has shipped over 7 million consoles, but has sold barely half that, I would say that there a PS3's sitting somewhere.
You stated that the price drop is because they are removing the EE chip. Yet, there are millions of PS3's sitting on shelves that are going to be sold for $499 and they still have the EE chip.

no where in there does it state that you have to buy a Blu-ray movie. You have to buy a blu-ray PLAYER...which includes the PS3.
with the purchase of a blu-ray player, you get 5 free movies.
The price drop is not the same as the new "Korean Model" which Sony said was coming to N.America
Problemis the Korean model does not have the "Emotion Engine (EE) chip" and does have the 80gig HD.
So the question yet unanswered isthe "new" $600 model from Korea which comes with Motorstorm also missing the EE.
The now $500 PS3 will remain unchanged.

Noone knows when the actual EE has been removed. I said they are removing it not that it has been removed. It has been stated that the Korean 80 gig version has no EE chip and the Euro 60 gig version has no EE chip. For all we know, they could have removed it from all PS3'smonths ago.
I also said that eveything is speculation, my bet is that there we will hear the exact detals at E3.

Nice find Eclipsed. On two points. I had originally talked to the guy at gamestop and he told me about the "need to buy a title" and when I looked at the rebate form I skimmed right over what I thought I already knew.
You are correct...you do not need to buy a full priced movie to qualify

now how many times have you heard of GameStop/EB Games employees being correct? If somebody there told you something, you should have thrown up a red flag. :D
