God, there's always one. Correction: Full of a majority of BAD movies and the remainder are movies you don't need to watch more than once. Happy?

I'd like to say thanks for the post. Helped me out grow my collection as I would have gotten more but I settled on 3 for now. Odds are I'll be back to get at least a few more I seen if they still on sale at the end of next week.

While we appreciate your willingness to share it would best be done when there is a larger selection of good movies (there are only a couple in that mix) and when the 50% off prices actually bring the cost of a BluRay disc below the cost of a standard DVD. Sorry, not paying $15-20 for a movie on "sale".

Woo hoo, just order Casino Royale on Blu-Ray. I got it for $17.25 shipped through Amazon. It is $27 plus I had a $10 off promo I did not know about and free shipping. Can't wait to see it on Blu-Ray. IGN said the transfer is near perfect in their review.

Arent they technically Digital Video Blu Ray Discs, or Blu Ray Digital Video Discs? Either why the term DVD can still generically apply since it is digital video on a disc.

The V in DVD was originally for Versatile, now people just use video. Movies are video. Games & Software are not video.

Forgot about that one, but either way it would still apply. Plus I have always thought Blu Ray sounded dumb...

Come on District B13 is not bad. I could watch that movie more then once.
And I only saw like a few other good ones. Enron: The smartest guys in the room and Kiss the Dragon. The transporters aren't that bad but I don't think they're buying worthy.

hahaha.. I was just about to make a thread about this after spending $300 dollars on buying multiple blu ray discs. Can't go wrong with those prices and free shipping. :) Who knows when we'll actually start seeing these things at those low prices. I think it would definately help the blu ray market if the prices for the blu ray movies were like that.

and that is your opinion. To me, these are good movies that I would buy(if I had a PS3) even though I have already seen them -- Speed (seen about 20 times but I always seem to watch it everytime it comes on cable) -- X-men 3 -- The Transporter (the second one kinda sucked, but the first was pretty good to me) -- Stealth -- Alien vs. Predator -- Entrapment -- Broken Arrow -- SWAT -- Phone Booth so that's 9 out of 46 that I would buy even though I have already seen each one. Not bad at 50%. I wouldn't expect them to have such a great deal on all the great movies.

I'm gonna pick up Kung Fu Hustle. Maybe the X-Men and Predator movie. Most of the other ones that I want I already have on DVD, and while they were good, I dont really care enough to re-purchase as BD. The sale is a good trend tho. The greater cost of BD has always been the re-tooling of the manufacturing line. So once all the factories are ramped up, I can see prices consistent with DVD pricing today. 14.99 is a damn good price. Certainly there are DVD movies in the 9.99 bargain bin, but those are usually trash. 14.99 within less than half a year of PS3 launch (which is where I count the real launch of BD) means we will quickly find a range of BD movies from the 9.99-14.99 oldies to the 19.99-29.99 new releases.

It's huge why? Because a blu-ray is subject to the basic rules of supply and demand? I guess because into the blue in blu-ray isn't selling and they lower the price it's significant simply because you get a blu-ray movie that no one wants? I guess you're one of those people that dive through the 4 dollar DVD bin at Wal-Mart and think you got a deal because Steel Magnolias was only 4 bucks.

is there something wrong with that? I do that. You can find some gems in there. However, I would advise anybody to CHECK THE BOXES. I bought 2 DVDs out of the "bargain" bin at Wal-mart one time. Got home, went to watch one of them, and the box was empty. good thing I only paid $5 for it.

One of the great things about the movie experience is that it is all relative and personal. A movie can suck complete balls, but you can still enjoy it for various other reasons. I also check the bargain DVD bins when I shop, and while you don't find Oscar winners, you can usually find movies that you enjoy or remember for some other reason, even if it is only because there was this one really hot naked chick in it. So, in closing, if I liked Steel Magnolias, hell yeah I'd be excited to find it for 4 bucks!
