they could make one REALLY REALLY big old school RPG with super nintendo graphics lol5UPERMARIO
If they made it at 16bit they could make a game that would last about 2 years or longer of solid gameplay.
Important for the future, irrelevant unless used on top notch exclusives for now. Never will gaming be the same again. Its a good thing we won't have to wait on multiplat developers to make 360 & PS3 games equal. From now on ( late 2009 i'd say), PS3 will be a whole new ballpark, while Microsoft will realise that developers won't want them anymore, seeing as how 360 will be inferior to compete anymore. Honestly, no one would play 360 in such a case. First off, where is the proof that you read it, it's still highly doubtful that is true unless there is proof.SonyMarksman70devs won't abandon ms. ms is buying all of their loyalty

[QUOTE="CronoSquall"]200GB mandatory installs? :Perror11
haha. it's funny because it's true.:|
The mandatory installs are on the discs because they're blu-ray, they're on there to reduce loading times when playing the games.
The less discs need to be accessed the better when it comes to play speeds.
It's not going to increase the size of games just the graphic quality. That disc will be used for Ultra High Definition games and movies.

I never said anything about TVs having that resoultion right now, your the one who ASSUMED that I did.
this is pretty much usuless for this generation, i mean 50gig to me on one to disk is still a big WHOA. I think this 500gb disk will be used in our generation today for movies (such as a whole season of lost planet on one 500gig bluray rather then multiple disks). As of next gen and then gen after that i think this 500gig blu-ray will be standard yet at the same cost of blu-rays today. This is probley a huge releif for devs now (at least good devs like kojima), they know in the fture they wont have to worry about compression. Im happy i bought a ps3 innovative system. This system really is gonig to last 10 years strong isnt it?

*WOOOOP WOOOOP* fanboy alert *WOOOOP WOOOOOOP*
devs will never "forget" about the 360 this gen. it has a larger install base than the PS3, and if anything MORE games are going to 360. FFXIII ring a bell? more devs are going to be looking to 360 for games, as PS3 development prices continue to skyrocket due to overpriced bluray disks.
seriously... think before you speak. oh wait, you are a lowlife fanboy. that explains a lot.
*WHOOOOP WOOOOP* massive dick alertsomehow i knew someone would try to use that comeback.... and somehow, it still isnt that funny. sorry :S
devs arent going to abandon the 360. on the contrary theyll probably go more towards the 360 since more ppl have it and they can make money off it PLUS the standards will be lower (think 8 vs 500)
But think about what will happen if Sony doesnt allow MS to use Blue Ray for the next xbox. Than the difference in gaming will be so big that ppl wont get them, so less dev support for them and more for sony, and than the standard of gaming might increase
You can bet that Sony will use this to its' full advantage when it's actually finished and ready to use. Imagine a game that never ends in content, areas, and with beautiful graphics. A game that would take hundreds or even thousands of hours to complete, either that or a really huge MMORPG. Also here is a link to support this post's claim.
