No, buy the 60gb. If I've read correctly, and I like to think I have, then the 60gb comes with a chip that allows it to play all previous PS2 and PS games. The new 80gb system only allows partial play (although the majority) through emulation. If you need more hard drive space, then you can just go out and buy a 2.5" notebook hard drive and stick that in your PS3 60gb.
depends on what you want to do with your ps3, mine is standing next to my pc so i watch movies or listen to musicdirectly from my pc so i dont got any movies or music on my ps3, my ps3 is now full of demo's and psn trailers and still got about 20 gigs left on the 60gb model. so its enough for me.
I would say 60. I would rather not rely on emulation for my backwards-compatabiliy, and if you buy Motorstorm, it's still $40 less than the 80. But if you just HAVE to have the extra 20gb, don't play PS1 or PS2 games and have an extra $100, then the 80 is fine.
