If you are one of the people who have this problem with their television (where it doesn't display 720p and PS3 downscales to 480p) please list the brand name of your projection television set here with model number if you can.

I am just trying to see which brands have this problem.

I play at 480p now. Or 1080i. I cant tell which one its displaying at. I had to recheck them when I moved it upstairs. But only for a little while. Its losses quite a bit of HD yea. But its still impressive graphics wise, even upstairs.

I have a 720p TV yet for some reason my TV says its running in 1080p while I have my PS3 on. Its a real wtf moment because the highest resolution my tv plays is allegedly 720p.

Protip: if your games are being displayed at 480p on your HDTV instead of 720p, it's probably because your TV is 1080i and either the TV or PS3 doesn't know what to do, and voila, 480p. Yes, this includes TV's that purportedly accept both 1080i and 720p signals. HDTV's have one native resolution; they cannot display both.
