Hey Im thinking about buying a new 80gb for the backwards compatibility. say if i buy it and replace that 80gb hdd with say a 160 gb hdd. does the 80gb contain the emulator software so If i put in a new hdd i would lose the backwards compatiability?

No, the HDD has nothing to do with the backward compatibility, so changing it won't make a difference.

well, i thought that since it uses emulation software that it might be on the 80gb hdd and lost once i take it out.
