In September I want to exchange my 40GB for an 80GB because I have a warranty at best buy that I can exchange my game system at any time. But the question is if I do this can I keep my downloaded games and psn account?

I doubt you could keep your downloaded games but you'll keep your account.

They probably won't fit on an Flash drive, may be you can try an external harddrive with USB connect and try to copy them that way.

So when you turn on a new PS3 doesn't it ask you to set up a new psn account? is there a link to log-in in if you already have a psn?

yes you can keep your games and your account. just sign in when you get your new xbox. as for your games, you can either back them up with flash memory or an external hard drive. remember, you can download each game you buy 5 times before they request for you to re-purchase the item.

If it does, I'd guess that it'll have no PS2 backward support....

Anyway, I'd be pretty surprised if they actually let the orginal poster do that for no real, reason. Or without you paying the difference, a fee, or something in the fine print.

The downloaded games can be redownloaded under your PSN account. And you can set your acccount up on another PS3 fairly easy once you get another system. The thing is if you don't want BC support for some reason you can swap the 40 gig HDD in your PS3 with any SATA 2.5 HDD fairly easy. You can get up to 320 gig HDD that works perfectly with the PS3, For the price difference and what you would lose it would be cheaper to go this way in the end for a much larger HDD.

Well the warrenty I have allows me to return my current system and replace it if any new system comes out in the next two years, and since the 80gb is lowering their price to 399 in september it would be free for me to take it back and excange it for twice the hard drive space than I have now. So I really dont want to buy just another hard drive cuz that would cost me extra money. Im just wanting to make sure my stuff will transfer.
