I upgraded my 80gig to a 500gig recently. 80gigs wasn't enough for me, I had like 20gigs left and upgraded it. I have a lot of games and plan on buying a lot more, i also have a few games on my hard drive.
You could easily delete the game data when you've finished them. If you did that, an upgrade wouldn't be necessary.Floppy_Jim
That's the problems, imagine each time i want to play Metal Gear Solid 4 waiting like 20 minutes of installation, 30 minutes for Devil May Cry. And when playing games like Street fighter having to wait long loading times if there's no intall data.
You need to go to system settings then select system information.how do you check how much space you have left on your hard drive? i have about 14 ps3 games, one of them being rock band with A LOT of DLC songs, im talking between 150-200, and as far as i know, i still have plenty of space.

No what's killing the HDD space are game installation. Having a lot of games that required installation is a drag.i just checked, i still have 40 gb available...i think most of yall that use it up download a lot of demos and dont delete the ones you dont play anymore.

And i have 9 and 14 the ones from my brother. But7 require installation to accelerate the loading times and two of them take 5GB and are mandatory plus all the Rock band downloadablecontent.
I have a 60gig HDD and I only have 5-6 left so I'm planning on buying a much bigger HDD in the near future.
The question is can I transfer my PSN games and downloads and saves or do I have to waist another download of the 5 you get from PSN games to get them on the new HDD?

That's the most annoying part of changing the drive, we are forced to wait still everything is downloaded again.

You can delete and reinstall the PSN games as many times as you want. The five DL limit only applies to the number of PS3's you can put it on....
