When you power up the PS3 hold the on button until it beeps a second time, it should reset the video settings and allow you to select a different resolution.

go to display settings and choose the right resolutions for your tv. Usually the PS3 has a built in functionality to detect the right resolutions though.

God does anyone really own a PS3 or is the hired hand here to just pretend. You go to display settings. Their will be check boxes for anything you TV can display "EVEN 1080P weee, unlike weaker machines" Check the ones you can display. Un-check what you dont want to display.

The problem is you need to select the HDMI input on the TV in it's settings and then connect the PS3 via the HDMI only and when you turn the PS3 on from standby by using the power button on the front just hold the power button until the second beep and then it should auto detect the HDMI cable as long as the TV has the HDMI as the input, if the HDMI isn't selected in the TV settings the only thing the PS3 is seeing is the composite connection.

Most of the problems are user error or they didn't use the users manual for the TV, sound system, or game console. Once you get the correct information it's easier than replaceing a light bulb.

I can change my input/outputs in about 30 seconds at any time now.

OK this is wat I think it says in the manual or sumthin

1. start w/ evrythin off

2. Connect ur ps3 to ur tv using hdmi only

3. turn on tv and change channel to w/e u get ur hdmi signal on

4. hold down the I/O button until u see a picture on the tv and u hear 2 beeps (i think)

If that doesnt work i dunno wat to do

Hope i helped
