When you power up the PS3 hold the on button until it beeps a second time, it should reset the video settings and allow you to select a different resolution.

go to display settings and choose the right resolutions for your tv. Usually the PS3 has a built in functionality to detect the right resolutions though.
when u select hdmi....it takes u to the next screen asking what video outputs u want to use
480i
480p
720p
1081i
and 1080p
deselect all the 480's and leave the rest on for then..should do the trick dude
why dose everyone have this problem with the HDMI with ps3 when i get my HDTV and PS3 with HDMI i hope i want have this problemKCKING23
Most of the problems are user error or they didn't use the users manual for the TV, sound system, or game console. Once you get the correct information it's easier than replaceing a light bulb.
I can change my input/outputs in about 30 seconds at any time now.
OK this is wat I think it says in the manual or sumthin
1. start w/ evrythin off
2. Connect ur ps3 to ur tv using hdmi only
3. turn on tv and change channel to w/e u get ur hdmi signal on
4. hold down the I/O button until u see a picture on the tv and u hear 2 beeps (i think)
If that doesnt work i dunno wat to do
Hope i helped
