A big Announce for Final Fantasy VII very soon.

So it's announcement about Final Fantasy VII. It could be about a PS3 version, but Final Fantasy XIII is still over a year away, and half the FFVII team is working on that. Besides, with Squeenix's current form, I wouldn't expect anything major. Also, that French translation is horrible, it makes no sense.

Unfortunately though, every FF game since the Enix merger has been relatively poor. If they DO remake FFVII, they better leave it turn based, because the new real-time battle just isn't what Final Fantasy is about.Foffity

FFVII was turnbased real time though. I know what you meant but at first I thought by turn based you meant 10.

I found FF games after 10 to be poor.

True but it could be possible that they would stick to the old battle system just with better quality. But hardly doutfull. Tacticity

I also would want them to keep the names of Materia the same being Fire 1, Fire 2, Fire 3. I'm not digging the whole Fira and Firaga thing they did with Crisis Core.

Hmmm I just read the french version and I don't see anything really exciting, they say there is a big announcement coming but in no way they say it's related to FFVII. That might actually be something completely unrelatedplg2307

Well i speak french, and what i see is that a big announcement will come out when the blu-ray version of FFVII AC will come out. But it can as well be a totally unrelated topic (FFXIII would have a higher probability)

If this game is in fact in development as we speak, I'd be way more excited for it than XIII, considering the utter failure of a game that XII turned out to be.

Let's all just hope that they are following suit with their DS remakes, and have this ultimate remake coming out eventually.

I hope not only for FFVII remake but also a FFIX remake because i think voice acting in that would really do the game justice(FFIX). You don't really get the tone of which the character is saying. Like Garnet/Dagger's singing it was just weird because all she "sang" was la la la la....la la la la...la la la la la...so on so forth. Then to hear Vivi's voice when he's confused about what he is. If they did it right it would be so much better imo.

enix would be a fool not to realize how many people want this game to come out. I mean, they have been making a freaking remake for every other one which are all getting ported to the ds/psp.lextexrex

Anyway, this site says nothing. The announcement probably has to do with AC on BD-ROM or they're going to dangle some FF XIII news in front of us. Or maybe it'll be about some lame-ass Crystal Chronicles spin-off or something.

I want a Final Fantasy VII remake as much as anyone else who played this game back in the day, but we can't delude ourselves into thinking every little scrap of information that comes from Square Enix is some sort of little hint that FF VII will be re-released. I'm sure, given Square Enix's track record, that it will be released in time, but who knows if it'll even be on PS3? Maybe they're considering doing it after the others are re-released. For all we know, it could end up on PS4... or they could be in negotiations to make it happen on Nintendo DS.

I swear, Sony should throw a bunch of money at Square Enix... this game would move a lot of consoles for sure and it'd be wise of Sony to entice them to do it.

I agree with you, and I think we are going to see a FF7 remake, but not until FF5 & 6 have been remade.

However, a FF7 remake will never happen on a non-sony system, just like remakes of FF1-6 will only be on nintendo systems. However which sony system we see it on next is hard to say, my guess is either PS3, PS4 or the next sony handheld.

I prefer the next installment of Final Fantasy VII than a remake.

But i don't mind playing the original Final Fantasy VII remake for PS3...

However, if you're asking me to choose, i will choose the next installment.
