A few questions on the new SOCOM

I know it's gonna be 32 player max which is awesome! Oh and i also know its going to be called confrontation.

Is there a final release date on it?

Will it be Downloadable only? or will their be a BD version like Warhawk?

theysaid it would be on BR also, just like warhawk with a headset, and they also said it would be out by the end of 07, which didnt happen=|nc_soldier

Socom 4 will have 32 players, but I think Socom: Confrontation will only have 16 players. Confrontation is gonna be like your typical non strategizing shooter. :) majadamus

The last I heard is there will be a on-line only Socom game and later there will be a single player/on-line version of this game.jimm895

Yes two socom games are being made

1 by a third party company (Slant Six Games) which will be a online game only and hold up to 32 people per server ( from what ive read ) , It also comes with a bluetooth headset. They said they are sticking to the old socom style , Socom 1 and socom II, so dont expect giant maps like the latest socom game. They are also taking the map "Crossroads" from socom 2 and putting it into the game. which is good news for me since thats my fave map on any socom game. The playstation Shop is suppose to have a demo for this in the future.

The other is by the original developers ( Zipper ) which is going to be Singleplayer and Online , i havent read much info about this 1 because i cant seem to find alot so thats pretty much all i know.

thanks for that helped alot this will change my 08 wishlist a whole lot but some questions for anyone who can answer them.

The socom being invented by zipper (socom 4) how many players online is it? Also any release date like Q2 Q3 Q4. As it gets closer ill look into it. Im on a tight budget so if its not what im interested ill just get confrontation.

From what I understand the Confrontation game that's being developed by Slant Six is haveing a lot of technical support from Zipper.

Zipper and Slant Six is getting a lot of techical support from Sony on the way the hardware works on the PS3.

So with this it could mean that Socom will have a couple of games that will show what the PS3 can do in the future.

i just really really hope slantsix and zipper are combining the game so online friends list and clan will be on both. has anyone been on SOCOM CA lately, i went on the other day and wow, not as much glitching, a new somewhat helpful update is out, and MAPPACK#2 is finally out with Desert Glory :)river_rat3117

I think it's 3.99 or 5.99, not sure which one. I haven't played Socom in a long time.
