Awesome. Thanks for sharing this! One of the most memorable themes in gaming. Here's my top five gaming soundtracks, just really quickly: 1. MGS3.....seriously, the Snake Eater theme song is absolutely godly. 2. WipeOut XL soundtrack....worldclass techno DJs contributed to it. Awesome. 3. Silent Hill 4: The Room....ok I wouldn't listen to it while driving to work, but considering the game it was in, you gotta admit, damn good soundtrack. 4. Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven...love the Japanese traditional instrumentation with a modern twist 5. Mirrors Edge....just for that bloody infectious and addictive song. Get out of my head!!!beekayjay
Great top 5, especially considering I haven't heard WipeOut XL or Silent Hill 4... you're gonna make me go back to my PS2 wishlist. But yes, Snake Eater is an incredible song. Remember during the game when Snake is climbing that ultra-long ladder and the Snake Eater song echoes in the distance? That still gives me chills! We are so fortunate to have existed during these times. You know, in all of the earth's existance, or even over the last 2000 years, no one has had the chance to experience anything like the Metal Gear Solid series until the last two decades? Talk about hitting the jackpot for being born.
this may sound unmanly, but i shed a tear:cry:OBonusThese my friend are called manly tears, which are shed only for the legendary MGS franchise.
I found one of a young Otacon playing the theme on a nylon string classical guitar....and it is amazing.
Check this out guys, you will not be disappointed.
MGS theme played on nylon string guitar by Otacon lookalike....
omg thank you thank you, my eyes are humid, the skin is bristled, thank you, this is EPIC.
anyone know where i can download it so i can share it louder with all my family?
God damnit, now I wish they had put that original theme in MGS4.
And on a more serious note, this.

I always admired how ambitious the composers were when they only had an 8-bit machine to work with. Decades later, the music is still so distinctive and beautiful.
