F.E.A.R. looks the same as the 360. The only thing wrong is that the grphics that were good then are bad now.aznfool07
No.Â
We should all just enjoy the games and stop getting so hung about what some reviewer said. Most of these ports are really exactly the same as the 360 version. Any of the glitches, (bad frame rates) also exists on the 360. Also remember that the people that review these games are not the same person for both consoles, completely two different people, different opinions. Maybe the PS3 camp/reviewers have higher standards ( joking).Opinions are just opinions not some golden standard or study that was performed by the Harvard school of public health. Bottom line this is a fun game, great game play, fun, fun, fun.vince7669
dude im sure that all the reviewers that have said the ps3 port of a game has a lower frame rate and dumbed down graphics compared to the 360 arent just saying that. if thats what theyre putting in their review, then its most likely true. its not like they just have somethin against the ps3, although thats what alot of the sony fanboys think. the problem with bad ports is with the developers, we know that a better port with atleast on par graphics and framerates can be done, oblivion's developers actually tried to make a good port, and w/ that extra effort and a little more time, they came out w/ a port that was actually better than the 360 version. if only the other devs would do the same. i have both systems, and i at first i was waiting for the multiplatform games to come out on ps3 thinking they would have better graphics and just be all around better, but the devs r screwin it up
Hi. I am posting to say that i'm a little worried with the "Ports" that we've been getting. Recently F.E.A.R. got reviewed and was said to have watered down graphics, and bad loading times. This makes me worry about upcoming games like Rainbow Six: Vegas and GRAW 2. I really want these games but i want them to be equal OR even better then the 360 version. I only say this because they take so long with the PS3 version but it still comes out bad. I know they cvan make games better for the PS3 because of Oblivion. No disrespect to the 360 version because it was a launch game i believe but the PS3 version had better graphics, laod times, draw distance and frame rate. All i'm saying is that i really want these ports to the PS3 to be equal. I'm tired of these second hand game...SharpShoota619
I couldn't agree with you more SharpShoota. Time and time again all I've seen is a bunch of ports being pushed back for what I figured was developers taking the extra time to develop the game for the PS3 rather than just port it over, but time and time again all I've seen is disappointing reviews left and right. For example, Splinter Cell Double Agent was pushed back for MONTHS because apparently they were putting exclusive content in the game for PS3 owners. When I finally played it I didn't think it was all that bad until I played the 360 version a short while after. The 360 version blew it away! The lighting was WAY better, there were no glitches or framerate problems that I experienced in the first few levels of the PS3 version. What was all that extra time for? And it's not just Double Agent, other than Oblivion I've seen similar disappointing results with Fight Night Round 3, now F.E.A.R., and the list goes on and on (just compare the reviews of games on both systems and they will ALL say how the Xbox version has better graphics, less load times, etc. etc.). It's come to the point where I don't even have high hopes for GRAW 2, or Rainbow Six: Vegas (both games are made by Ubisoft, which did a bang up job with Double Agent). Things are definitely gonna have to change, because it doesn't matter how powerful a system is if the game quality is not up to par. Â
[QUOTE="rogerjak"]I say blame the devs. PS3 nor 360 should be blamed for having bad ports. The devs make the games, the consoles only play them.CellienVery true.. Whatever console the game was made on will be the better version. Been like that for a LONG time.Clear has water.Lazy a$$ developers...want to win money the easy way.
well from what I hear. It now takes TONS of money for developers to make new game from scratch based on the Cell processor. To just port something over does not take that much funds. In other words, if a developer wants to make a game from scratch for the PS3, they better have the big bucks. If not, they just make a move to more inexpensive projects for other consoles.
Â
Also not to mention, big game developers mostly want to put their games on systems with a large install base (its all business to them). But that all can change in the future, if the prices drops.
[QUOTE="Flame_Blade88"]Blame it on the devs.Thomas-Crown
Yep... is not the ps3 fault... The Developers had been very lazy.
They've been lazy on the 360 too, most games need about 2 updates before the graphics add up, it seems the devs release games aprox. 3 months before they're actually done.
But the PS3 doesn't need to worry, Sony's own games look amazing, and games like Resistance are Masterpieces.
As Cory Barlog said: Would you rather work on a piece of art, or work for EA?
That's why i'm proud of buying games that i know devs worked hard on to push the power of the PS3. Games like Lair, Heavenly Sword, GT5 rather than multi-plat games. Most of the time, when devs work for two diff consoles, the quality of the game gets split in half.Â

don't forget MotorStorm :P[QUOTE="Nene33"]You're right Motorstorm is a Masterpiece too.ArmoJan
only if you like racing games though. :?Â
Well, the game looks great, they really paid attention to detail, the gameplay is excellent, online racing is very strong, so wether you like racing or not it's a Masterpiece.

You said it yourself. Oblivion is an example of a game that is visually better on the PS3.
All it takes is effort.Â

I would agree if it had split screen, it's an online masterpiece.Â

I'm not sure any PS3 games are masterpieces...yet. When I refer to masterpiece games, I usually think of Super Mario Bros., Chrono Trigger, Castlevania: SotN, Half Life, MGS, and most recently God of War and Oblivion. All of these are games that changed the gaming world, helped define the systems they were released for, and hold up to the test of time.
As good as Resistance is, I wouldn't call it a masterpiece. Sure, it's done by far the best job of showcasing what the PS3 can do, but it didn't provide the epic experience that, say, MGS did. It might be a while before we see a true masterpiece, but if Resistance and Motorstorm are any indication of what's to come, I'm excited as hell to see what's in store for the PS3. My bets are on Lair and Heavenly Sword to give us more of a next-gen experience, but if they don't live up to the hype, there's always MGS4.

MotorStorm lacks offline multyplayer and more game modes. maybe in MotorStorm 2?I'm not sure any PS3 games are masterpieces...yet. Agreed. To be honest, I don't see Lair and/or Heavenly Sword falling into the masterpiece category either. I think they'll be good games. But I feel that MGS4 will probably be the 1st game for the PS3 that's really transcendent.Â
