dont get me wrong it sucks that psn is down. and no i didnt take the time to read the rant. all i know is i only game on ps3 so im in it with sony for the long haul. i feel like the ps3 still offers me another couple of years of good gaming so just as long as psn gets working again and sony keeps coming out with great games i dont see why this wont all blow over and be forgotten. the important thing is ill get over psn being down and im sure alot of other people will as well. but sony better reconize and get thier crap together cuz ill give them a free pass this time but if hackers are a continuing problem and psn is constantly down trying to fight them off then i guess there is a chance i wont be gaming on a ps4

Oh good. Someone who isn't a rabid fanboy who's willing to defend Sony for anything short of treason.
So, I need to ask (and it might help if you read the article I linked in the OP): what would it take for you to finally be fed up?
What I guess wasn't clear is that this isn't another rant about how crappy it is that psn is still down. To tell you the truth, of all the disappointments I've experienced by being a ps3 owner, the fact that their network was hacked isn't as annoying as how they plan to make it up to us or the features the machine has lost or the fact that every firmware update from now on will (like with the psp) probably just be to continue the futile war against hackers rather than improving the functionality of the machine so we wont want to hack it in the first place.
I agree with you the "reward" is pretty crappy. A free month of PS+? Wu-ho, I get access to a few free games for a month and then it's all gone again. If anything they're trying to get more people to subscribe to the service, instead of giving people permanent access to a select free game. Really Sony? That's the best you have to reward me and other customers for our loyalty? I'm not feeling a sense of gratitude for my patience.
While the "reward" is pretty bad, I was very happy that Sony will be giving new card fee reimbursements for those who got a new credit card and is offering a free year of Identity Theft Protection. The unfortunate part about the world we live in today is that everyone seems to have this attitude of self-entitlement that lends itself to greed. If Sony had initially came out and said everyone on PSN gets a $10 credit in their PSN Wallet, people would be asking for $20. Give them a mini, they want a full PS3 game. LeifLongbottom asked the question, what would it take for you to finally be fed up? I'd like to ask the question, what gift do you feel equals not having online for a month?
