A question about 720p/1080i

Hi, I have a little question. I got me a 32" Samsung LCD that supports 720p and 1080i and hooked my PS3 to it. Everything works great and all, but I keep hearing that I should better play my games on 720p. My question is, do I change the settings from my TV, or from my PS3? I know there's a display setting in my PS3 that forces everything to play in 720p, so would that be enough? Because I ran through all my TV settings and didn't find anything that switches the display settings in it.

so try it on both and you decide on which you think looks best
