I'm not super technically savvy, so I am not clear on this issue entirely. The question is simply this: can you run the PS3 using a VGA box connected to a computer moniter screen like you can with PS2/one?

Yes yes I know... I speak heresy to even suggest this. Most of you all use HDTV's... I know. But I am too poor to afford to buy myself a nice TV, at least for the time being.

Thanks

You should be able to because the PS3 has the same A/V output port as the PS2, so any visual cable setup that you have right now should work.

I have my ps3 hooked up to my computer moitor using HDMI to DVI connection.I have a samsung 906bw 19inch and i can easly get hd gaming which looks great for now because i cant afford a HD tv right now. To get sound u have to use ur av muti out with a 2-1 spitter which combines to red and white connecters and connect to the back of ur computer tower and bam u have sound! u might have some static sound make sure u do NOT have mic boost on or ur sound wil sound awful. and thats how it works enjoy!
