This new slim PSP wasn't really meant for already PSP Owners to buy but for people to just get into PSP. If you already have a PSP why would you still want to buy one anyway. I agree with you about their is nothing that turns us on. I don't have a PSP but would like to get this new Slim one instead of the older version just because its slim and has some newer stuff.Icegoten200I agree. I am holding off on getting a PSP until the new version becomes available. Even if load times/batter life is 'only' %20 better (as a static figure), that is still more battery life and less load time. And the TV hook up is great. The new package will come either with Jak or the new SW Battlefront game.
what were you guys expecting that would have made it revolutionary? Better graphics? How about a right thumbstick? a bigger screen? Faster Processor?if they did any of thatthe PSPwould be come a whole new system......not the PSP
I mean the DS lite did little in the way of more innovation besides the compactness, brighter screen...and sleeker design
and look how that sold....I dont think the product was even directed at trying to get current PSP owners to convert over to the new PSPit was created to broaden theconsoles base by improving on theprevious flaws the system had (long load times, horrible battery life, bulky weight, lack of TV out) Ithink the PSP will proportionately have the same effect of success the DS lite enjoyed. with that said I am keeping my PSP the way it is and wont buy a new one just like I kept my DS.
I'm definitely stoked for the new redesign. What did people expect coming into E3 this year? did you guys really expect Sony to unveil a massive change to the PSP's design similar to what Nintendo did to the GBA and the DS? With the PSP's construction, I don't think It would be possible to make it any thinner and any smaller considering the size of the screen and the button layout.
Also, I believe the improvements are quite impressive: Smaller battery with equal efficiency, Thinner frame, lighter, better feeling buttons and D-pad, simpler but improved UMD slot mechanism, VIDEO OUT, different colors...and some other things too.
WHAT MORE CAN YOU WANT while still staying within the boundaries of the PSP's price range and physical space? and please don't say "a second analogue stick", that's just not possible and fair to the original psp owners.
and combined with the Entertainment pack, you're getting a good amount of stuff for your money.
I'm getting one.
Some people who don't like the slim psp are the people that has already the old one. They just can't believe that there's a new one coming out and they can't afford to buy again.
