well you will definetely want some hd cables whether it's HDMI or component, even if it's only 720p, which still looks great and is still a higher definition picture. I use HDMI because i paid for an hdmi port on my ps3, so may as well use it, and it's one cable for both video and sound, so its looks more orderly. I would say get one, either hdmi or component, to enjoy your investment in an hdtv. You can get either for under 20 dollars, good quality, don't fall for any cables over 25 dollars ,because it's just a scam.

YES get HDMI

HDMI will allow you to upscale DVD's, use Full RGB(if your TV supports it) and will offer a clearer picture.

I stuck with component for 3 months before I bought a hdmi cable. I wish I would of just got a hdmi cable right off the bat (I didn't waste money on the component cable, it was the same one I was using on my ps2).

i got a hdmi cable at gamestop for 24.99 i think- looks amazing. definitely worth the extra cash. also, wait to get a 1080p set because they're only getting cheaper, thinner and larger by the minute.
