I just found out that they're releasing ps3 portable soon. Itll be a while till it actually release but when do you think well hear about it base on the cycle?

Nobody knows anything about the playstation 4 sony have yet to make any kind of official statement about it. anything at this point would be pure speculation

First of all the NGP isn't a portable PS3. Second there is no offical statement from Sony, so nobody knows anything about the PS4. All we can do is hope we get some information at E3, I really want a next gen as fast as possible

theres no such thing as a ps4 and even if the ps4 is announced, you will be waiting about 5 more years before you can buy it because sony is focused more on the ps3's 10 year life span and the ps3 has only been out for 5 years so stop looking towards the future and focus more on whats happening now

um, the ps2 has only JUST stopped selling down here at my popular tech store in australia (JB HIFI WOOOT!!). so that means its been selling parallel with the ps3 for at least 4 years. who says we cant see new consoles soon?

Sony said the PS3 was a 10 year plan, not a 10 year plan before the next console comes out. The PS2 still sells along side the PS3. I assume that PS4 would also sell alongside PS3 as well.

I would guess we'll probably hear serious rumors about the PS4 in 2012, and I would expect to see a full reveal in 2013. That's just a big time guess, however, total speculation on my part.

Edit: Besides that, I don't even want to think of how much a launch PS4 will cost. If Sony honestly thinks it again can sell a launch console at a $600 price point... they're crazy.

Why are we talking about next generation systems. It is not going to be this year. Sony is not going to release PS4 and eclipse Uncharted3, Twisted Metal, Resistance 3, Ratchet and Clank, and Last Guardian.

There are already some moderately big games lined up for 2012. The 3rd bioshock game is supposed to come out. I take it that Ninja Gaiden 3 will come out next year. There are rumors of sly 4 going around because of that trailer thing that you get when beating all 3 sly games in the collection. The Liverpool studio is supposed to be working on a new Wipeout. The creator of Ninja Gaiden is supposed to have a new game come out in 2012 for current consoles. Final Fantasy 13-2 won't come out until next year. I assume Verses 13 will also not be out until next year. Darksiders 2 is coming next year. I say look to 2013 or later for PS4.

at the earliest we might see a peek of the PS4 at E3 2011. But thats being extremely Optimistic. In reality we probably won't see anything until mid to late 2012. To be honest though I don't really care. I'm still happy with the PS3 and still have a huge backlog to work on.

what is it everyone wants in a ps4? my ps3 does everything I can think of that I would want out of my gaming console. what can they add to make a new console more appealing? it's already operating in full hd, great online experiences, and most recently 3d options for certain games and motion controls (not that I use either). jnjreams76

ehm, no it does not, there's barely any game that runs in full HD and none of them can output a 3D image as well(iirc, maybe Flightplan, not sure). As you can see in my sig I own a 3D LED Tv and I'm sick of having a gaming system connected to it that can't make use of my Tv when it comes to games, 3D BluRays are the only thing that do so. I want to have a system that can output something that's at least as strong as my current Notebook @ 1080p 3D with 60 Hz per eye :S I love my PS3 and it's my most played system, but the gap between the PS3 and the PC gets more and more noteable

better graphics and all game should run in 1080p that would be more like it.

I dont know what is the term that pc have that smooth out edges on graphic but it start with (A)

thats what ps3 should have in the first place.

graphics are good right now but still lots of jaggies and 1080p makes a big difference.

ngp will not be a ps3 portable im sure of that, it could be kinda close though. and i dont know about ps4 comign soon, this gen still has some time left and i hopea new console isnt announced till after 2012
