I'm 14 and I'm about to get 1 grand and a little bit more. I want an owners opinion on if I should buy a PS3. My birthday is exactly 2 months away now and I already have a 360 and Wii. There is no way in hell I'm getting a PS3 for my birthday but there will most likely be cash involved.I've done the research. If any stores around me still have a 60 gig I'm getting one. Just give your opinions on the hardware in general, I've heard they don't get "Unable to read disc" messages on new games like my 360 does for both my NCAA 08 and All-Pro nearly as much, which I hate. I currently own a 360 but I plan on getting a 360 in February or March of 08 so... As of right now most of the games I want for 07 or on the 360 so im just gonna get those games for the 360 and of course Halo3, Mass Effect, Bio Shock and PGR4 are coming out exclusive to the 360 this year, but after 07 im gonna get the PS3 and pretty much most of the games im gonna get, im gonna buy them for the PS3 cause im starting to get annoyed at MS for their marketplace prices and $50 xbl, plus the disk read errors I get, I usually get about 1-2 of them aday during the middle of gaming, even when the game is new and has no scratches or smudges, and im also worried about the red ring, again after 07 im pretty much gonna use my 360 for just exclusive 360 games, and most, if not all, of the third party games i will be getting on the PS3, so if I were you, especially with the 5 big first party games Socom, Warhawk, Uncharted, RnC:ToD, and Heavenly sword coming out plus all the third party games, if I were you Id go pick up the 60 gig version since its $500 and as good backward compatibility. So my answer is, if you dont have a PS3 or 360 and you are interested in Socom, warhawk, Rachet, uncharted, heavenly sword, killzone 2, MGS4, littlebigplanet, Tekken 6, ff13, and gran turismo 5 more than halo, mass effect, and PGR4, then go get a PS3, trust me come 08 the 360 will start to show its weakness in power and disk capacity and the PS3 will start to pull away. The PS3 will be a great investment for right now and into the future which right now the 360 looks geared for this year but who the hell knows about the future, and with the red ring and all the other stuff, just go with the PS3, especially if you get your 1 grand with the $500 model still available. Oh and 1 more plus I did not mention is that HOME is coming out this fall and it will be free with stuff available to buy unlike XBL which cost $50 a year.
