About to get my first PS3. What games should I play before the next gen?

I have had an Xbox this entire generation but thanks to games like the Last of Us I have decided to get a PS3 to fill the time before the next gen. I am getting the 500 GB GT5 Legacy pack with Infamous 2 and I'm getting the Last of Us. What other games did I miss that I should experience?

Congratulations on your PS3 purchase, I would recommend: Demon's Souls, Uncharted series, God of War series, Heavy Rain, Metal Gear Solid 4 and the HD collection, Killzone series, Little Big Planet series, Yakuza series, Jouney and Ni No Kuni.

Thank you! However if I wanted to keep number of purchases down to a minimum, which games of the uncharted and Killzone series should I get? I don't want to buy the whole series but which are most recommended?

Thank you, I went through this but what I really wanted was a ps3 exclusive list, I've already played a majority of those games on xbox.

That depends on your preference in games, majority of the games I mentioned are cheap since they have been released within the last few years.

Personally, I would recommend Uncharted 1 and 2 (makers of the The Last of US), Metal Gear Soild 4 and HD collection, God of War III and God of War: Ascension. Those are mine preferences, your might differ. :)

The Last of Us, The Uncharted Series (You can skip or play 3 it's good but not as good as 2), Heavy Rain if you like plot driven games, Resistance 2 & 3 (once again the second is better) Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for your speedy combat game, God of War collection, and Gran Turismo 5 (rumor has it that 6 is for PS3 so hold off until official words.
