Just curious if anyone here knew good places to find cheap 60gb PS3s? Refurbished, used, whatever, it doesnt matter as long as it works.

And for the record I am cautious about Ebay in general so maybe exclude that if possible.

I think read something the other day. If you signed up for some Sony Visa and spent over $500 or something you got $100 cash back or something. They were more or less saying this was a way to get a 60 GB PS3 for $500.

Is that "bubba" or "bubbah"? And the corner of 4th street and Main or 4th Avenue and Main? ROFL Yea I just know you can usually find "discount sites" where you can save $50-100, but I don't wanna go the ebay route as my account was hacked a couple years ago on there n never bothed to re-up it after closing it out. I just can't bring myself to that $600 range, it's a mental block. Even if it were $550 I could delude myself and think its cheaper hehe

Amazon, free shipping no tax (if you pay tax). Maybe look for a circuit city 10" off coupon.

Craigslist, bring a few buddies or a gun.

Any store selling a PS3 for $50-100 off would be losing money. There is very little margin on videogame consoles. Little margin means little room to drop prices.

I saw a refurbished one at a EB Games store for $479.99 last week. I was very surprised about how much it was dropped - would have expected $520 or something. I am guess the company sets the refurbished price and not the store so start calling around. I don't know if this was a fixed unit or if it was a sold-back unit or what. This would be the only way at this point I would say and you seemed ok with refurbish......

Hmm yea I didn't figure there would be many reburbs or used systems available yet but maybe I'll call my local gamestop/eb stores n see what they have em priced at

Are you sure that wasn't $479.99 for a 20 GB PS3?? That seems more likely. Then again, if they are having a hard time selling new 60 GB PS3s, maybe that would be right. They would probably give you $300-350 for a 60 GB PS3. That makes for a $150 profit. Just guessing on those numbers. I'm probably way off.

craigslist is the way to go.  I got my 60gb Brand New in the box for $500 back in Dec.  I still see them sporadically here and there for $500 brand new with receipt.  If you are willing to pay $550 you can get them all day long.
