I'm excited but lets hoping the online stuff won't get in they way of SP quality and that QTE made me worried.
They are using real world theme. I'm a little bit sad about all that fiction country and company are gone. There is a huge story gap between last AC and AC 3: Electro Sphere. It's interesting to see how certain company collapsed and the rest of them form General Resource LTD (Belkan's Grunder Industry) or Neucom Inc. (Erusian Air Space & Administration). Don't know what will happen to fight with ridiculous super weapon as well maybe Project Aces can think of something.

The first button prompt was when the F-22 was being tailed. What followed was a slo-mo aerial back flip that allowed the F-22 to gun the tailer down.
This seems to be a much flashier version of the Tactical Maneuver Command from The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces where if you were in a certain radius of a bogey, you build up a meter that makes your plane do some crazy acrobatics to be right on the bogey's six.
It wasn't a simple quick time event where you had to mash triangle like crazy. It demanded that you fulfilled conditions before you could do the flip. The triangle prompt was simply telling you to press triangle once you're outside of the enemy's shooting circle (which is what the plane seems to try to do before maneuvering out of the range).
The second prompt pops just before Akula's missile hit the F-22. No idea if that could've dodged the missile or if it was the reason we got the fancy eject animation instead of death. It could also be a prompt telling you to eject, and can probably even be turned off if you want the interface prompt-free.
Basically, those prompts were nothing more than to show you what buttons to press at which situations to do a critical action.

But yes, I second the single player > online comment in priority. Don't worry though, Project Aces is always known to deliver some great single player experiences. Also, the radio chatter also gives a lot of clues on some great boss-characters you'll have to face off against in the game (Akula in this case, kinda like Yellow 13).
As for the "real world" comment, yes, I'm sad that their awesome fictional world was scrapped for now, but on the brightside, Joint Assault on the PSP also takes place in the real world and has crazy super weapons.
In my opinion, an AC game are known for the following:
- Fantastic audio-video presentation, with fantastic and exhilarating scores
- Lots of radio chatter
- Boss units and super units
- Unrealistic battles (missles everywhere, helicopters doing barrel rolls, planes flying between buildings and way too close to eachother)
While I was skeptical at first, I'm looking forward to what's to come. No matter what, I have complete faith in Project Aces.
I've no idea about Sky Crawler had a game, I did watch its anime with shocking anti-climax ending but I'll take a look at some Sky Crawler's gameplay for better understanding. I've to lower my expectation now and anticipate changes in AC series for better or worse. I don't want any disappointment like Hawx.
