I saw that it's about ready for 360, I played the earlier versions on my PS2. What's the deal with Ace Combat? Will it every drop for the PS3? Hollabrooklynkidd718

i think Ace Combat going multi-platform is good for Namco. Since the rising cost of game development i think it was only logical for a game like Ace Combat to go multi-platform. I think that if PS3 came out a year ahead of X360 and was selling like Wii,Ace combat would be still a PS3 exclusive but i don't think that Ace Combat is gone from Sony. Since it wasPS and PS2 which made Ace Combat such a strong Franchise. But that SIX-AXIS is a goodand interesting idea.

Well Ace combat 4 and 5 have boring gameplay but what made me play it was cuz of the story. The storyline in both games are top notch.... up there with MGS... The story.. it's one of the best in all the games you can ever play on the PS2.

Frankly I think the Ace Combat series has been goin' down hill in the last few installments (IMO). After part 3, there really wasnt much room for the series to expand. I say bring on Warhawk!;)
If Ace Combat has online deathmatch, then I might consider picking it up. But since it's a flight game I can easily wait for it to be released onto the Ps3.
I have far too many upcoming games to buy on the 360 anyway, and I need more on my Ps3.
I really liked how much it has improved graphically. I enjoyed the previous ace combat series... and this is coming from a guy who does not like flight games... :) I'll keep my eyes on this one...
The reason we're seeing so many 360 versions first is because the developement for the 360 is getting done first. AS we all should know the PS3 is a pain to port over to and develope for, so I predict a PS3 release sometime in the future after the 360 release.

wow u actually survived going into a gamestop to buy a playstation game and came out alive without them hounding you to buy a 360 ???? u r brave my friend and i seriously doubt this game will last all that long on the 360 alone sony had 5 of the 6 games on their system it will only be a matter of time before the ps3 gets it i love the ace combat series the gameplay is top notch and the story is really well done i agree wit whoever said up there wit mgs ( well maybe not that far but good all around ) they just really disappointed me wit ace combat 5 not having online play....to be able to go out in a 4 man squad against others would be insane
Thanx, as long as this game is a timed exclusive, im happy, and i will wait, by the time the game comes to the PS3, it will most definitely have PSN capabilities like Home. Ace combat is the reason why I like flying

The fact is that many multi platform games that used to be exclusive have a big problem for this gen. Big cost and low userbase. Ace Combat Zero did poorly on the shelves, and if AC6 was to be kept exclusive it may suffer from low sales again making NB finish the franchise. The same goes for SC3 and DMC3. They both suffered from poor sales for their last game. DMC3 was ported to PC just to give a boost in sales.
What many developers are doing now is opting for multi platform until either console has a big enough userbase to handle exclusivities again. But considering that there are still games that dont do well even if you console has way over 50 million units as happened to ACZ, SC3 and DMC3 among other then its just logical that some franchises turn multi.

Which is why they should have started on the PS3 and then ported to the 360 as some devs are starting to do. Burnout is being done that way because the devs say it's easier to port to the 360 from the PS3 rather than the other way around.
You know after playing Ace Combat 5 on the PS2.....I could care less, I really don't like the Ace Combat series anymore. I used to but now for me it just went down hill.

But Gamespot is saying for both what do you think???

Soul calibur has almost always been multiplatform (except SCIII). For them to choose to go multiplatform for the fourth installment is wise, because of the high development cost.
i believe SC and AC going multiplatform have similare reasons. They sell to little to just go exclusive at this stage of the generation.
I must say i'm really annoyed about this. I love Ace combat and the fact we have to wait for it like we have to wait for EVERY other game thats multiplatform is embarassing Tom clancy games anyone? Yea, but just wait 6 months please. Great. Spiderman 3? (admittedly a terrible game but why should we have to wait an extra month for it?) It's incredibly frustrating. Then theres the fact that wen they do eventually et ported, the have qworse graphics and framerates. Games gonig multiplatform doesnt particularly bother me (Unless its MGS4) because although its a bit sad t see it go, I know I'll still be able to play it but when i have to wait months for a game that isn't even as good as it was in the first place and then pay more money for it? (I saw GRAW2 in GAME for £25, despite when it comes out for PS3 it will be £50) |This is becoming a bit of a joke and i'm frankly regretting buying my PS3 so soon. And see if they don't release that Ace edge for the PS3 as well? I'm gunna go through the roof i tell thee

I think we've converted them at my Gamestop they all want PS3s now :)

Who had to wait an extra month for Spiderman 3? and if it's a terrible game, why do you even bother to care if it was 1 month.
Graw 2 for the ps3 will come with more content.
There are other games to be played while waiting for another one to release, it's not the end of the world if a development team decides to concentrate on each console.

People need to relax. Namco is doing this so that each game can maximize each consoles potential.
Ubisoft had trouble adapting to the new technology of the ps3, but they're getting it. Vegas will be a great port, as will GRAW2 and both have ps3 exclusive content and use of the sixaxis (albeit not much in vegas). They will no longer have release date issues once they get the tech down. I'm expecting Assassin's Creed out on time.
