It has been proven not to be a rumor ;)Just because there is a patent for it that does not prove it not to be a rumor. All it means is that Sony came up with the idea and has secured the rights to it. GTA secured patents for multiple cities. They will only use one of them for GTA IV. And they might not even use one of them. Don't get me wrong...I am really looking forward to something like this so I hope its not a rumor. All I'm saying is I'm waiting to hear something from Sony saying this feature is coming rather than just seeing it in a patent. If Phil talks about it at GDC...then I'll get excited.

Playstation Home is so much more than the Reward system, there's a lot more. People think that the PSH idea is Mii and Achievements but it's this too. http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/895.htmlÂ
LAST NOTE: As well they kind of have this idea in Ratchet and Clank: UYA except it doesn't have to do with the community. In Ratchet and Clank UYA in your quarters you have games, and trophies.
I don't understand. You get trophies for different achievements. How big is this room? I know I have hundreds of achievements on my 360. Are you only going to get like 3-4 trophies per game? That would be lame. I like getting achievements for trying different things. If you have to put these achievements in a 3D space, that seems like a lot of clutter. I'm definitely interested to see what they come up with.b11051973
Maybe you get trophy cases.
I wonder if Insomniac would go back and add those things/acheivements to Resistance...dan_brouwerNah, I don't think they would

I've never understood the whole achievements thing. Doing mundane things in VGs just seems to appeal to a certain type of person and I sure as hell am not one of those kinds of people.
For example, if in the next Hitman game, I wouldn't give a toss that if I wore every single disguise for every single mission or if I use every single weapon for every mission I'd get so and so achievement points; that just means I have a nak for being ...erm.. anal retentive.
I'd much rather have a plak or trophy that shows I completed all mission with no disguise changes and have another type trophy for doing all of that and getting a Silent Assassin rating on all the missions on the highest difficulty or an entitlement that "entitles" me to get a certain weapon that's not in the actual game for the regular users. Now that is worth showing off.
So when people see that particular trophy, they know you did great things on a game, not mind boggling mundane things.
You pretty much described achievement points on the 360. I actually got all 1,000 points for Hitman. There were no points for wearing different costumes or use every weapon. There were achievements for killing guys certain ways or getting silent assassin. So, from what you say you like, that's exactly what achievement points are on the 360. There are definitely dumb points. I just don't go after ones that don't look interesting.I've never understood the whole achievements thing.
