Will codejunkies ever make an Action Replay Max for PS3? Did you hear any release date?

Do you know any other cheat system that gives you special cheats like god mode for games like GTA IV or COD ?

Thanks very much for the attention!

Like u i would also like an AR disc for the ps3 but the only problem is that sony can easily disable its use with a simple patch so i dont know if Datel will bother.

Its a shame if u ask me.

I would use it only for single player mode, not for multiplayer, I don't think Sony has any interest about blocking offline cheating!

I always believed the codes and cheats were willfully given by the game creators after some time to satisfy the players, so if all the game developers are OK with Datel and Action Replay there's no reason it won't be made.

Why don't they make a AR for PS3. They can make it with USB Flash Drive and to counter the block from updateing data. They just need to update the USB on the PC.

It's not that easy. SONY could kill the functionality of AR with a firmware update, if they wished it. I dunno if Datel want to or can figure a way to get around this, other than making a product that can be updated as well when SONY tries to block it. And i wonder if SONY will do something bad to your PSN account/access if you cheat. By the way, it seems like Blaze has made something for cheating on a PS3. The new xPloder kit should handle it, it seems. http://xploder.net/

They never were. Those companies were all 3rd party and not officially licensed. They hacked the consoles. From what I've read the last time, the Codebreaker guys deemed PS3 "unhackable".

Though I do like cheat disks to mess around with the games, I'm glad they can't make them anymore. Especially when consoles these days are so intergrated with the net, they can't have people flying around with cheats in games having Sony trying to track them all down to ban them. Not to mention the constant altering of the firmware. It just can't work anymore.

arent sony taking datel to court for providing people with tools that allowed them to play pirated games? i wouldnt think you would be able to use cheat discs on the ps3 anyway. plus wouldnt the use of a cheat disc just help people get all trophies without trying much and thus making it unfair towards those people who put time and effort to get it fairly?

Action Replay and similar software use memory hacking to create it's functionality. Essentially finding and dumping all the memory values, searching them, finding the right location in the memory, and modifying the value(s) at that location. Action Replay codes basically pointed to a memory address, and a value that they wanted to place there, sometimes adding joker commands (binding the code to a button press). Theoretically if they could get software to run on the PS3 and access it's memory it should be possible, however Sony can patch the PS3 to block the program, and most games are capable of receiving updates too, which they usually force you to do as the game boots up. So keeping the AR updated with new firmware works in theory to combat the PS3 system, but not each individual game, as game devs could easily force an update that changes the memory locations that it stores its data in whilst in play. It would be a lot of work for each game dev to do, so they would likely just change a memory offset value, which increments all memory locations by a set number. Which would mean that AR codes for PS3 games would become invalid as soon as the game devs released a patch update etc. Unless the AR had a built in offset list which could be updated automatically or manually etc. It would essentially be a constant war between Datel, Sony and game devs, which wouldnt be very smart for Datel financially, as theyd be constantly have to be hacking the same games to find new offsets to get old codes to work, none stop, which although I am sure would be appreciated, it would be extremely cost efficient. Imagine have to be finding the same codes for the same game constantly. How annoying. So whilst it is technically possible, business-wise one would think it be very un-wise of Datel to make such a product. Ashame though, AR adds so many more hours of gameplay to games. Heck If I come across PS1 game codes that I have not seen before (say for Final Fantasy IX) I sometimes end up starting a whole new game on it, even if I have not touched it for years, just to have a mess around.

Yeah, what he said. Also, the self-loader would have to be disabled to do anysort of disk switching. There is a pretty good hack that covers this, but who'd want to tear open a 500 dollar system for all that.

Really they shouldnt anyways because then people would more easily get trophies by cheating which would cheapen them for everyone. I used to have a gameshark and later on a code breaker for PS2 and i really enjoyed them, especially for GTA, and though i would like to have a couple of those cheats again (namely rocket ridez, devil armor, and go through water) im kinda glad that im just 1% away from getting 100% without ever using cheats.

They're not going to allow people to cheat it would complete defeat the purpose of having trophies.

The games this gen are already so easy these days why would anyone want to cheat anyways?

As far as getting trophies, the whole action replay could go one of two ways. Either there could be a asterik by the trophy showing that a cheat code was being used when the trophy was earned, or it could be set up to where things go in games like GTA IV and GH metallica. Where if certain cheat codes are in use certain trophies can't be earned or no trophies can be earned at all. Seems like a simple enough solution and obviously it's something that's already being done. I'd rather earn trophies, then just basicly have them handed to me, but some of the action replay cheats are just for pure entertainment, like big heads, or small heads with big bodies and other silly stuff like that. Not something that impacts the game, but like me, some people are easily amused. I think it would be interesting if I could play re 5 regular story as wesker, having to kill myself at the end.

The next gen systems are do or die for Datel and the other cheat companies. Theyve managed to make a lot of money off of the cheat discs for the PS2 and GameCube, but soon Sony and Nintendo will stop making games for those systems. After a little while, a major part of their income will be cut off, and theyre either going to have to figure out a way to circumvent the security measures of the companies, or try making a living off of memory devices.

What I cant understand is why they cant just make a downloadable application connected to a cheat database. That way, it would be easilly updatable, have all the codes you need, and it would get rid of the auto load problem. Kind of like the action replay for the DS, where you start the game through the application. And Sony wouldnt have any say in what you download onto your system. Of course, theyre going to have to keep away from online games.

Does Sony and Microsoft realized that by disabling cheat codes, they're actually losing their potential customer? A hardcore cheater such as myself, relies heavily on cheating devices to get full enjoyment over games. I don't buy the console and the games if I know it's uncheatable. Therefore, I'm not positioning myself as a customer of Sony, Microsoft and the games developer. Therefore, they actually lost a potential customer such as myself. And I'm sure, this is happening everywhere and I'm pretty sure, that they don't want to lose a potential customer. Especially when Sony and Microsoft is at war over market domination. Hypothetically, if Sony and Microsoft encourage and license cheating devices (Since it is licensed, Sony and Microsoft could control and ensure that the cheating devices doesn't spoil and ruin the consoles) they will actually be getting more money than when they block the cheating devices. Coz, people like me will gladly pay more to buy their consoles and games with the cheating devices. Why? Because people cannot purchase one of them.. In order for cheats to work, you need the cheating device and the game itself. So, when you buy the cheating device money will flow to Datel, then you buy the console and the money will flow to Sony and/or Microsoft and when you buy the game, money will flow to the game developers. It is mutually beneficial to Datel and other cheating companies as well as to Sony, Microsoft, and the game developers. What they need is only to block cheats used online. But they should license the use of cheating devices for offline games. What do you guys think? Am I right? Or am I just an echo of a cheatless game console desperate in need of cheating?

I agree. Enevtually, people will stop buying them for the ps2 so Datel will most likely make one for the ps3.

And can't Sony just update the psp action replay too? (for those of you who don't know psp has one too)

I beat Persona 3. I needn't an Action Reply for any game, nor would I really want one on a console. It takes the challenge away all together.

Why on earth they didnt release an action replay? i dont get it even in the ps2 without chip mods and original games they created A.R.for cheats in the games. And even if they afraid so much for the online gaming they can find a way to do something so they can block the A.R. to work in the online gaming! its not so hard for them i believe some times that sony makes the easy stuff look like a mountain. They afraid of everything,i believe that theres a way to make ps3 work with hack to play copy games something like the custom firmwares that works on the psp.But i dont care because i have bought many original games and im happy with those. The only thing i know is that my first ps3 was working normal for 7 months and sudenly my disc driver have malfuncthion and i was give my console for replacemend (thank god my guarantee was still alive) not to mention my data loss and my breaking nerves! And the worst part was that i read in some forums that the latest firmware update was causing the trouble.Im not sure though if the firmware was responsible for that, of their bad quality lenses and mechaniks that they use for their consoles,i only have to tell sony that they must wach more about issues for problems like those, and stop worying about stuff like action replays or hacks for the online games. We give them our money and we deserve some more respect! And one last thing....why on earth the trophies exists in the most of the games? they are useles and i dont care if someone else see my progress from my list. From the momend they are not suports any purposes are anoying. At least sony must make them worth something like for example to spend it somewhere.I am not going to spend my entire life just to clear every trophie list from my game collection i have a life you know! (sorry about my bad english)

There really is no issue here, it isn't hard to create server monitoring programs that detect cheat programs being used by online gamers. These have been in use for several years in the PC online game market.

The issue is one of Sony, Microsoft, etc having already made up their minds on the issue and being unwilling to listen to argument on the subject. This is hardly anything new, the same happened, and is still happening with the "Regional encoding" issue. It is nonsense but the mind-set has been fixed and for reasons that the major players in the industry are strangely unwilling to disclose, it cannot be changed except perhapse bt the highly unlikely event of intervention by some government or international regulatory body.

how has nobody considered it could be loaded on a flash drive and accessed from the xmb?

anyways, because of trophies i don't see it happening much anymore. i liked cheats sometimes for games because i don't always have 4 hours to spend solving a puzzle or trying to beat 1 really hard part over and over and over and over and over. i have other things to do, i love to play games but there are parts in some games that are ridiculous.

It may seem a silly question, but who actually looks at someone elses trophies with any degree of interest anyway?

The point of gaming isn't to earn qudos and the point of cheating is not to get trophies.

The idea is to enjoy yourself, any restrictions placed of this that are not there to prevent actual harm to others, and not just there egos is not only silly, it negates the point of the games themselves.

Sarcasm pardoned. If you find enjoyment in cheating, the please, by all means take pride in knowing you literally can't do what millions of others do: Play fairly and enjoy the game the way the devs wanted you to play it. People say fanboys shouldn't be the way they are: Annoying. Well, that's exactly what cheaters are. They're in the same category, if not, lower.

Oh dear, I think we have one of those unncesarily angry posters to deal with...

Oh well, stick to simple explanations and basic logic then.

I have a policy with cheats, I will not use them simply to beat the game.

Every game I buy, I complete fairly first , just for the challenge. After that I will use cheats to mess around and have further fun with the game that I would otherwise be unable to have.

*Gets angrier?* Just wait until you see actual anger. This will seem like an ordinary chat to you. But certainly when I said "experience", I wasn't including 2 or more playthroughs. I'm the same way with in-game music. I used to do that myself a few years ago.

Excellent! I do like finding points of mutual understanding.

I agree that cheating should be kept out of competitave online gaming but as I said earlier, that isn't difficult to achieve without disabling the cheat program it's self. The problem is with the popular idea that cheating is only used to..... well, cheat. :)

I realise the ambiguity of the term, perhaps some new terminoligy is called for, Game Enhancement system maybe?

think people use cheat saves somehow to be unkillable online. and homing bullets. ive shot alot of people right in the face with a tank in warhawk and they just kept coming at me. then i heard about people flying in cod4 on youtube. and under the video it says something about adding some file to yor saved games files. but i have no clue how you do it.

I love the PS3 and the newer gens of games.. but i hate how they freaken block out almost all cheating methods.. The only game i ever play is SF4.. but game like SF4 should not have cheats unless its for unlocking all the icons, skins, colors, banner, flags, characters, etcs... because going through all those challenges are REALLY hard, especially the combos the game expects us to learn.. there's so many games out there... i wana play them ALL.. but i can't cuz some of the games are so long and hard.. (and sometime addicting).. by the time i finish beating the game "fairly" and earn the trophies.. a bunch of other games are coming out.. I bought my ps3 for almost 2 years now.. and i got metal gear solid as its first games.... Still haven't play pass the 1st chapter.. but i know the game is really good.. -_- same goes for UNCHARTED fortune(i dont know even know who's the bad guy is), Eon flux (i keep falling and get kill by security), Heavenly Sword (last boss is impossible), and many more.. I also got my Wii games -_- i got over 30 wii games tittles that i haven't even touched.. why you ask..? because Brawl is addicting.. by the time i actually finish Uncharted fortune (if i ever remember to play) the 2nd version of it is already coming out.. like Uncharted 2 (which everyone LOVE)... I wana play other games too like.. infamous, that batman game, god of war III, final fantasy 13, and... iono!! dam it all i wish ps3 allow us to buy the cheats for cheap on the PSN or something so i can skim through the games... or let ACTION REPLAY do its thing.. i tend to download the saves files to bypass the cheating thing.. but most of the saves files are saves that the players finished the games already... -_- but ps3 makes even THAT difficult...

there are game that are not 6 hour long too.. well 6 hour is pretty long for people who doesn't play game for a living though.. :-/ sorry if i offend anyone.. anyways wouldn't you like to have the ability to moon jump, infinite amo, or something to make the comp stomp a little more fun... (as an option) if anyone here play Mapple Story.. im sorry in advance.. I play that game before because i can hack/cheat in it.. (i got valcum, god mode, and multihits, ) after they ban me for a week(warning).. i stopped playing.. why..? because i can't cheat anymore.. i even spend money in the game for more slots before they ban me because i like it that much.... but the fun stop once they do something like that to you.. my point is game is made to be FUN.. and for US cheaters.. cheating is fun :) and i would like an option of cheating in a game i like :)

Am I right? Or am I just an echo of a cheatless game console desperate in need of cheating?rameyuk
This is true. If cheating companies like gameshark and datel were to come to some kind of agreement with Sony and Microsoft, it could be possible to disable online play and trophies while the cheat device is active. Of course you always run the risk of a hacker finding a way around that, but as others have said, an updatable AR or gameshark could solve problems when Sony/Microsoft issues new patches.

For us 40 somethings with kids, career and other things to do, a "bonus" feature built into the game with unlimited something greatly helps to enjoy a tough game. I don't play Online so I don't need to feed my ego with trophies and ranks. Just give me the ability to have a good time. Without infinite Nitro for Need for Speed, I couldn't beat the AI even in novice. Resident Evil games gives a lot of ammo to pick up, but some levels have some really tough bosses. This is all for OFFline Single Player fun. Heck, even with unlimited health, some levels in games still kill you, and then the game gets stuck and you have to restart.

as far as fun is concerned, I think cheats beat trophies by far, there's games that are so tough that cheats can make them likeable, but trophies is always the same : go there, kill xx things, do that in limited time, die less than xx times ... no fun in that
