Seriously, its game breaking. Empty 4 bullets into a guy, kill cam shows you not even shooting. The lag is bad at times due to crappy host. Love how other games arent like this, just CoD... P2P is the worst kind of connection a game could have. No onel likes being 2 seconds behind whats happening on another person's screen.

If Activision went the dedicated servers route every year they'd just disconnect the older COD and force you to buy the newer one.

I know! I had this problem with COD4. No other game I've had, PS3 or PC had this issue.

It's just a broken piece of crap (and the same game) that people seem to pay $60/$70 for on every release...

I would doubt that. Almost all the COD games have a strong community and they still profit from the other titles. Shutting down servers with an active community would cause them a lot of problems with their fanbase, and most of all, their profit.

They wouldnt shut down a game if their's still tons of people playing. Plus activision has more than enough money for dedicated servers and such. They're just to cheap. 15 dollar expansions?!?! for 3-5 maps whatta joke. Poor patching, design teams, marketing, cheap methods to save money. Its a joke..

its activision, so even if we did have dedicated servers they would most likely be crappy b/c thats the only way activision makes things.

i would love if they went that route. but i bet most casuals who only play call of duty (as thier main game) wouldnt be able to tell any difference anyways.

We're talking about Activision here. The only way we'll see dedicated servers is if they'll come bundled with a paid subscription or timed access for 1 year (or so), essentially forcing us to buy every new CoD iteration.

Activision is too cheap for that. People will buy cod no matter what. The masses are happy with the way it is. The only way activision would do it is if they could charge a subscription fee.

I agree, but Activision will never put in dedicated servers. It cost too much.

Then how come all these other games can afford them? If any game series can afford to have dedicated servers (and should have them), it's COD.

"empty 4 bullets into a guy, killlcam shows you not even shooting".

I can relate to that. I laugh when I look at the killcam and it looks like I'm shooting sideways or not at all. Or when I knife a guy coming right at me, but it shows me knifting the air at about 10 feet away, but then of course he gets the knife lunge from about 8 feet away instead.

I've just come to accept that part of the problem is lag (I only have 3MB/sec DSL, I'm sure people have 10MB connections or even much higher on college campuses). However I'm sure a BIG part of it is also the really trashy peer to peer setup of this game, it just sucks.

p2p is all about community size. if community size is small, then you have to connect with ppl far away from your location, then you will have poor connection.

good thing about COD is they still gets tens of thousands ppl online even on older COD games.

of coruse, if they already have poor internet speed, then closer distance wouldnt help.

a lot of kids lilke to download mp3, tv drama and movies while they are playing games...
