so after learning that my HDD is about to die (as you can see in my post :http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=27120469&msg_id=318161195#318161195)

i am now looking to change it. i'm down to 2 options:

1) Western Digital Scorpio Blue (320gb 5400rpm)

2) Seagate Momentus (320gb 5400rpm)

which one do you think i should go with? i'm talking loading speeds, reliability, noise level, or just better brand over-all. what do you think? i don't need exact details and measurements, just your thoughts. thanks

In my experience, Western Digital makes the best drives. Someone else will probably disagree with me but again, my experience. I've got the 400g model of that drive.

On a sidenote, you won't notice that much difference between different drives in a ps3 as far as load speeds go. It really doesn't matter. Gamespot did a feature on Solid state drives not too long ago and they didn't find enough of a difference to warrant the upgrade. If an ssd(much faster than hdd) isn't noticeable than different hdds won't either.

Just my opinions/experience.

Even though i prefer WD I would say go for the Seagate because Sony use Seagates as the PS3's default HDD however aslong as its 5400RPM I dont think it really matter to much.
